“Hi, I, my wife and my 2 years old daughter are the victims of this worst hotel in Cairo. We were having the booking in this hotel from 23rd Dec to 26th Dec and then again on 31st December, 2009. We came on 23rd December late night from UK. First of all, the reception staff asked us more money (660 LE) instead of 594 LE (as we have already provided them 10 percent while booking it). I told him and shown him the papers, but he did not give me the room for half hour. It was midnight. Ultimately, I got the room after half hour of arguments. The room was terrible, with bad smell through out the room. Anyhow, we managed to sleep as we were all tired after so much problems. In the morning, when we saw the toilet/bathroom, we were shocked. It was made in 1-1.5 sq metres. I would imagine how can a human adjusts in such a small toilet/bathroom. You need to tighten yourself to bath and to do other morning activities over there. Its really terrible. Anyways, we would just need to take bath and get out of it. So we did so and went to take a breakfast. Thats again amazing. They provide 3 pieces of bread and a boiled black tea. I asked for creamer, but they did not provide the creamer and said, if I want tea, then that is it. No more bread, as they have fixed breakfast quantity. We survived those 3 days and started gathering power for another 1 day which we had booked with them in end of our journey in Egypt. That was the most terrible experience anybody can ever have. We reached in hotel in early morning, at around 8:30 AM. As our Abela train have reached Cairo in early morning. So we went to hotel and asked for the room. The reception guy took the money for that day and then said that the check in time is 12 PM, so I need to pay for 2 days instead of 1 day to get the key of the room. I refused to do that and went out of the hotel and preferred spending couple of hours roaming in the market instead of giving them 2 days money for nothing. I came back to hotel at 10 AM and asked if they allowed us the room. As we were having 2 years old daughter with us. But these guys had no courtsey at all. We waited for half an hour in hotel reception, sitting idle. At 10:30 AM, the owner of hotel came there and saw us waiting in reception. He did not know the situation and thought as we were new customer, so he asked us whether we need room. I said yes. He told the reception guy to give me a room and then asked me to give them the money. I said I already give it to the reception guy. After listening my words, the owner asked something from the reception guy in Arabic. It might be whether I have given the money or not as the reception guy moved his head in Yes. So after that, the owner said to me, sorry all rooms are booked. Wait for another 1-1.5 hours, then they will give me the room. We were already upset by all these things, so we said either you gave us the room right now, or we do not want to stay here anymore. We are leaving. He said, ok you can leave. but they wont refund the money. As its a common policy in Egypt that if money is in pocket of someone, then its his money. At last, we left the hotel without money. My friends, I have told what has happened with me. I was with my wife and 2 years old daughter. Still they did so much wrong with us. If you still want to go on to such a terrible hotel, then try it on your own risk.
