“It was in a very convenient location (right by the Oberkampf Metro). It was friendly. But, our rooms were dirty. The bed covers and floors were very dirty. However, when we asked for clean ones they did it immediately.

“The room was small and the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together, but the room was clean and tidied every morning. The room did look a bit rough around the edges, but it was clean. The location was good, within 30 seconds of a metro station and there were a few cafes, takeaways and bars around. The major attractions such as Notre Dame are in walking distance aswell

“It was so close to station which was great! Unfortunately it is just a few metres from a pub so it is noisey at night if you are facing the street. Staff was very nice. Very clean except for the mattress covers which they probably never washed. Also, towels are tiny and very rough. There is supposedly a breakfast, but both mornings we were there there was no one in the kitchen, so we had to go elsewhere. Good internet connections.

“The staff were friendly and helpful. The main problem I had was with the glass in the bathroom. It was very dirty and old looking and the towels were a bit stained and old looking, but it was fine.

“I was very disappointed that our nights' sleep was disturbedby a large group of English kids on a school trip. They were not controlled by their teachers or by the staff at the hotel and on each of the 3 nights they were shouting and running up and dowm the stairs and into each other's rooms until early morning. Other residents were as disturbed and angry as us.

“On the whole; dreadful. My 5 year old son and I got trapped in the elevator. The alarm did not work and because it was in the middle of the afternoon and we got trapped on the top floor nobody heard us for what felt like for ever. My son was very frightened as was I.

“I was truly surprised at what a great little hotel it was considering how cheap the room cost. The staff were great and the simple breakfast in the morning was very welcome. The only criticisms I have was that the shower head in our room was loose and consquently you needed to support it with one hand as you showered, and the pillow on the double bed was truly appalling. It was like one long stuffed (uncomfortable) sock. I would still go back there however if I wanted a cheap and central place to stay as I'm sure the competition in that price bracket would be quite shoddy. But I'd DEFINITELY bring a pillow..
