Comments: El Refugio - a peaceful, idyllic & heartful place next to a hectic Ronda. No need to worry about anything, Botz, a chef takes perfectly care of you. It's british, very british indeed!

Comments: The reviews are true. It is an island of fun, good food, and good service. Unlike the rest of places we stayed in Spain, El Refugio is run by a guy who cares for his guests. The dinner was excellent and so was the breakfast. It was a welcome change in the mediocre quality of the food we had had before. The guy and actually other people there told us a lot about Spain and life in Spain.

Comments: Distance from Ronda is 17 km, and the last 6 km is the moutain road . Bathrooms and toilets are in the groundfloor and there are very small ship-like stairs up to rooms. There is no windows in both rooms but in very small twin room there is a window to the corridor and a small glass along a room in the ceiling . This hostel is for somebody who would like to stay in Cartajima - not for any which purpose is to visit Ronda .

Comments: It's wonderful hostel! Maybe the most suitable name for type of place for staying like El Refugio is "hometel": sweet, beautiful, comfortable, stylish… We were very nice to know about El Refugio and its cool owner Botz. He speaks English perfect (he is from London))) and gave answers for all questions about Ronda, beaches, free time and night life in Costa del Sol, roads, celebrations and so on! He's very friendly. El Refugio was the best hostel we stayed during our 14-days Spain trip!

Comments: We\'ve stayed one night at the el Refugio in Cartajima. A very good experience... Not only were Botz and Pete very friendly people that are making sure that their guests have a good time (they hung out with us till about 3.30 in the morning) but the dinner was also great (Botz cooks for you if you ask it in advance...) and the breakfast was very rich (Bacon & eggs, corn flakes, Bread, ...) Tip is to arrive early in this hostel, it is perfectly suited to conbine with a trip to Ronda (if you come by your own car) if not you can go hiking into the Sierra de las Nieves eith the owner... (He can come and pick you up at the train station if necessary) Greetz to Botz & Pete

Comments: A little bit far off, but very very cosy and quiet. Read the comments first as you can get a nice dinner there -which we unfortunately didn't do ;-) It is situated in a lovely natural place and a friendly, charming village.

Comments: A very nice place in a lovely mountainous village about 30 min drive from Ronda. We did get the dinner and breakfast and the company of the owner and his local friend, all for ourselves since we were lucky enough to be the only guests that night. I'm glad we got a chance to see a piece of rural life instead of being stuck in big towns. Cheers, Botz:)

Comments: This hostel was my favorite hostel yet! The owner is so much fun and took us to a river where the locals hang out... very cool. The hostel isn't actually in Ronda, but is in a really nice small village only a short drive from the big city of Ronda. VERY nice place to go!

Comments: Probably the best place I've ever stayed. Botz is one hell of a character and a great cook. He took us down to the local swimming hole and the pub... and introduced us to his unique taste in music. The hostel is in a spectacular location in a ancient town complete with its own village idiot. Who we had the pleasure of meeting. Couldn't have asked for a better experience - thanks so much Botz. What I remember - I will never forget. See you again soon!

Comments: Not just a hostel, an experience. Owner Botz made us feel right at home, cooked us our best meal in ages, gave us great advice and was a load of fun to hang out with. It is best to have your own transport to get there.

Comments: Botz, a guy from the UK, is the host at this place. Its a small and compact hostal but the place is full of atmosphere. If you are not traveling by car, you can contact Botz to pick you up in Ronda. Dinner and breakfast are served at the hostal for a verry reasonable price. Botz is a good host with a great sence of humor.
