Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating England 17th February 2008 Couple 18-24 3/5 Comments: Good location, at the top of the main section of shops, cafes and bars you can simply walk down from the top to the balcon de europa which is a popular part of town. Then keep on walking downhill to more areas of bars, cafes, shops etc. The hotel owners are very friendly and helped us as we were actually moving to nerja. The Hotel has wireless internet, which is ok but signal strength is an issue and we found it intermittent at best. We would recommend the hotel, its pretty good value for money, and the input of people who knew the area was very useful. However if you come here and talk to local agents and look in english bars, you can find much cheaper holiday apartments and even places to rent long term.

Traffic noise in specially one of our rooms is the only negative I can say - apart from no water in the pool, but that would have been too cold anyway.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating England 21st July 2007 Couple 31-40 3/5 Comments: Hostel San Miguel is a fantastic place to stay - before we left we were trying to book again for October! Don't take my low rating on "Fun" as anything bad though, as we were after peace and quiet which is what you will get from here. Hostel San Miguel is actually more like a budget hotel. The swedish girl who was working there was excellent and would provide you with information on the area. The hotel is kept very clean and the small pool on the roof helps cool you down in the late afternoon. The location is mostly good - it is situated approx. 2 minute walk from the bus stop and is only 10 minute stroll through the pretty streets to the main hub of activity - however the hostel itself is on a busy road and so the rooms at the front of the hostel are very noisy if you have the windows open. San Miguel have put 2 sets of patio windows in which really does block out the noise when closed - so you can still have a good nights sleep. All in all, I would advise anyone travelling to Nerja to definately check in to Hostel San Miguel and they will get a fabulous room for their money!

It offers free high speed internet, which is always a welcome bonus, and has many self service items available such as extra towells, soap, lotion, etc... But what I liked most is that the Swiss folks who run this hotel are truly great people. I highly recomend the Hostal San Miguel.

The staff are very warm and friendly, and excited for you to stay and help you find your way around. We felt very safe here, and it was incredibly clean. The locations was great, right around the corner from the bus stop, and just a nice, short walk to the beach. Also a supermarket just down the road. There is even a roof patio, with a pool and a great view. We highly recommend this place, and made our stay in Nejra very enjoyable.

The location is perfect! Rooms are lovely & very clean. There is even a clothes line on the balcony! This is a true value! A large breakfast buffee is only 5 Euro.
