| Comments: antique furniture!! not a hostel to go to if you want to meet people and have a drink. however if you want to chill, relax and have a look around southern budapest then this is perfect. definately the cleanest and comfiest hostel i have stayed in. |

| Comments: Gellert Guest House was good. Stuff didn't speak that much English but that wasn't a problem. Rooms were nice and big and clean. It was easy to get everywhere from the Guest house by buss. Very nice place and quiet! |

| Comments: Quirky villa setting in quiet residential area. Useful communal self-catering kitchen/dining area. 10 min regular service public bus ride to central areas. Good shower but hard bed with thin pillows. |

| Comments: getting to this place was nothing short of a nightmare, the directions are terrible and they don't fully tell you how to get there and when your carrying a ruck sack in the stifling heat the last thing you want is to spend the next two hours trying to get there, but apart from that when you eventually find it, it is quite charming, the room was lovely and clean and its a nice place, theres a gorgeous place to eat just down the road and its cheap but i have to say i wont ever be going back, and the staff have no english which doesnt help either..... |

| Comments: A cosy and nice place, particularly suitable for those who are looking for accommodation in a calm setting - of course that means you're a little bit far away from the city center, but means of communicating are ok. Friendly staff, though there were some problems with languages... |

| Comments: The hotel is a little remote from the center, but there is also a tram stop "Hegalya Utca" of line 61, and you can easily commute using that on the Buda side. Fridge in the room, good bed, and quiet at night. I will go there again when I will be travelling with my partner. |

| Comments: The staff was great! When we first got there, there were staff everywhere. Then, we figured out that there's one lady who runs the whole show: she cooks breakfast, does your laundry, and is the "24 hour reception." She works so hard, so be extra nice and give her a bit of a break! This guesthouse was by far the highlight of Budapest. Right now, they're renovating the whole place (just painting and stuff, nothing big), but once they're done, I wouldn't be suprised if the price trippled. Give your business to a couple locals. It's a great, clean place to stay, very relaxing, and well worth a couple extra minutes of walking. When getting there, it's easier if you take the bus and not the metro, especially since the metro is under construction. |

| Comments: For some reason, last time the reservation system failed and overbooked us! Gellert Guesthouse personel were able to reaccommodate us in the nearby College "a class room" - not so nice but better than nothing. |

| Comments: The guesthouse is nice, really close to the congress center (if you have a meeting there it is really cheaper than the Novotel !). But the owner only speaks 3 words of english, 3 words of german, 3 words of italian... so it's sometimes difficult to communicate with her ! |

| Comments: Nice and quiet house, but near a important ugly street of Buda; easy to reach the center by bus.
Rooms differ, we had a very good bed, our friend a real bad one. But TV with sat., good bathroom, very clean, internet for free, very quiet place.
2 things that spoil the place:
expensive breakfast and quite small
the lady who is alone to work there looks really unhappy to have people, and does'nt speak a word of english or german
but it don't mind, i'll go back there anytime, because of house, rooms and price |

| Comments: very nice place in a big hungarian house, cosy, you feel like at home, free internet access,it s very cheap for the accomodation with the quiet garden! the woman(she is alone) there, is very friendly and kind, speak english a little bit...it is 10mn from the town center by bus(all day/night long)...quiet area/residential district...for single or couple its the best no party there...;) also there s a nice pub just a bit down in the guesthouse street were you can eat hungarian food and other dishes until midnight for cheap prices, local people there good staff...if i have to come back for sure it ll be there...enjoy |

| Comments: Great value, good location if you don't mind a bit of a walk through beautiful parks and roads. Not much interaction with anyone else but it's not unfriendly. In fact I felt well looked after and glad I found this place. |

| Comments: This place was an incredible bargain. 10 Euros per person for a double, and you have your own bathroom, mini fridge, television. A little out of the city center, but in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The staff doesn't speak English so well, but we had a wonderful time there! |

| Comments: Got a single room with en suite bath - the room was great - plenty of heat from the radiators. Bathroom cleanliness was a little iffy. There's a bus stop just down the street, and a tram stop around the corner, but it is NOT easy to navigate around Budapest from here...other locations might be easier. However, there is a FABULOUS pub on the corner down the hill - Aranyhid. They have the best food I ate on my whole trip, and very very reasonable prices! |

| Comments: what I can tell it's that the locotion of this guesthouse it's perfect and the price it's also very good.Of course nothing it's perfect ,in the night the woman who's working there she doesn't speak english but in course of the day the owner he's very helpfully, giving me the whole informations about the city.So I enjoyed my staying in Budapest and next time I will get the same guest house. |

| Comments: The bus station leaves you close to the hostel but we could not found the bus 8 when we got out from Ferenciek tere Metro station. The bus station is more easy to be found under the bridge, the left side of it. You can walk on Apaczal csere janos utca to arrive to the bus station.
For people who look for a peaceful place to stay the hostel is very suitable. It has a beautiful landscape and the room and kitchen are nice and comfortable.Very close to the place is the Gellert hill with Cittadella. It is a very interesting place to visit, highly recommended.
Budapest is wonderful!!! |
