Pool, playstation, tv, hot showers, free coffee and nice friendly staff. The twin room we stayed in was clean but very small. Also the walls are paper thin so dont plan on sleeping too well. Overall Id recommend as a good budget option in a nice area.

Room is tiny with a little sink and the bed isn't too comfortable... but who really comes to Amsterdam to sleep right? I would stay here again.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating - 27th September 2007 Male 41+ 4/5 Comments: nice secure place with free internet access and a great breakfast. besides the normal continental breakfast. jeff cooked me 2 eggs every morning!. our private room was on the 3rd floor and was clean and airy with a private shower!!! jeff even arranged for a taxi at 515am on the last morning of our stay. the place is in a quiet reslidential area with an atm around the corner and a couple nice cafes nearby. i would not definately recommend hotel hortus to anyone visiting amsterdam

Für junge Leute die nur zwei, drei Nächte bleiben wollen absolut okay, vor allem da der Preis doch sehr, sehr günstig ist. Auch die Gegend ist vollkommen in Ordnung und nicht all zu weit vom richtigen Zentrum empfernt. Wer allerdings auf eine erholsame Nacht und absolute Reinlichkeit besteht, sollte doch lieber ein teureres Hotel wählen!

First time in a month of traveling that I was offered fried eggs for breakfast (a far cry from the bread and bad coffee of most places). I was worth the stay and I would recommend this place to all.

The location is quite good, you get to the centrum fast. I think it was not the fault of the staff that the hostel was so dirty, but of the guests. There are lots of people which vomit into the sink and don\'t clean that. Or they don\'t flush on the toilet! It was ugly. The floor was extremely dirty and the \'breakfast\' is only naked toast with butter and Nutella (nuts cream) and a fried egg. I cannot recommend that place! Choose another!!

(hace esquina pasando el canal). es el mas economico q encontre y mire... y mire... 27€ noche por persona en habitacion doble. la unica pega es q el tigre esta compartido y a ultima hora (lo limpian x la mourning), pierdes toda clase de dignidad inalando los hedores del puto trono. la ducha estqa en la habitacion. RECOMENDABLE pa los toxicomanos como yo que prefiern gastarse mas en el coffe y menos e el hotel. chewbacca records©
