Comments: There should have been more blankets, and we all really missed soap and a trash can in the bathroom! The woman in the reception was very nice and helpful - the guys really weren't.

Comments: i was really looking forward to staying in this hostel, as i really liked the pictures and the description. however, we were told to stay in the \'new building\', which was not far, but nothing quite like what i expected. The location was excellent, but the plastering in the room needed updating badly, and you could basivcally see through where the inner walls were joined next to the door. We could also hear the Italian people above us very well, and they spent quite a lot of time in the bathroom (i suspect they were enjoing some of Amsterdam goodies, and the bathroom was very suitable for that, with colourful tiled walls and really cool taps). Anyway, it was a very good location, and we only came in to sleep, which was great, if you don\'t mind noisy metal beds. It was rather good value for money, even though i was a bit dissapointed by not getting into their beautiful red decorated rooms in the original building.

Comments: The Amsterdam room is great for a group. Location is perfect. Could have done with duvets as it was pretty cold.

Comments: There is not a common place where to interact with other travellers! The rooms were fine but divided by girls and boys.

Comments: It seemed a bit overpriced for the room we got. The bathroom was very clean and it was nice having a microwave to heat up our stroopwafels.

Comments: They have 22 beds in the 20 bed dorm. They advertise as 'Drug Free' but it isn't if that is important to you.

Comments: a LOT of noise in that hostel... I think it's the worst i've stayed in... We're 20 in a dorm in wich you can easy hear the noises from the staircase of the building next door and of the toilets.... a catastrophy!

Comments: I stayed there only two nights, so difficult to say something special. Location, lockers, kitchen in the dorm with dishes - cool. I also was lucky to stay in the big room on the 5th floor with beautiful view) The bad thing was squeaking beds and noisy nighbours.

Comments: As the other reviews say, just 2 large rooms, 20 beds each with reception and bathroom in the middle... hard to sleep with so many people coming in and out, just go for a bed really...

Comments: Hard to beat the quality/price relationship at this place. Close to train station and most sites, clean, relaxing, safe, helpful staff, other guests were fun, and a good price compared with other hostels in Amsterdam (and I did try a few others).

Comments: Quite expensive for a 20 bed shared room with no breakfast, no kitchen, no common-room and a cleaning made with no respect of who is sleeping or not (they took my blanket while I was sleeping!).

Comments: The location was good, but there was no breakfast and the room wasn't really warm. The showers tended to be cold, and the room wasn't clean. No common room so no place to hang out and hard to meet people.

Comments: The Aivengo hostel was great! I stayed for three nights! The staff was really nice and helpful, and the rooms were really clean and spacious. The location in great...only 5 minutes from the train station. You're basically in the center of Amsterdam. I felt really safe here, and I would definetly recommend it!

Comments: Not a bad hostel. There were more beds in the dorm than advertised. It was nice having a bathroom in the room but having just one bathroom and sharing with more than 10 women was not really enough. No soap or shampoo, there was a fridge and a microwave. Beds were not comfortable at all, really the cheapest sort of guest beds, and made loud sounds every time someone moved. It was great to have free internet in the lobby but with only two computers there were usually many people waiting to use it.

Comments: The private room we stayed in was in a seperate building from the main hostel so the privacy was nice. The beds were so uncomfortable- the springs poked through the mattresses and caused bruising! Also there was only one bathroom so there was often a wait for the toilet. Definitely not the nicest hostel I've stayed at

Comments: Fantastic location! Would definitely reccomend the double ensuite room with jacuzzi for couples. Our room was on the 7th floor (no lift) but we loved having the view and didn\'t mind the climb.

Comments: As said to the staff, the photos of hostel in Trav are very different from what the hostel and rooms are. Our 4 roombed was in a different building from the hostel itself (not far away but sepparately), I think that this has to be indicated when you are booking, as these rooms are totally different from that in the hostel. Also, the woman who tydies up the room came at 10 when checking out on sunday but opening the room without knocking and stayed inside starting cleaning.

Comments: We stayed in the separate kingsize room, which apart from the 86 steps to get there (yes we counted!), absolutely blew us away, it was perfect and so romantic. The french doors open onto a stunning view of the city, there's a gorgeous jacuzzi bed and plenty of space. I would, and have, recommend this room to anyone visiting Amsterdam with their special someone!
