Comments: Very easy to get to using the U-Bahn and S-Bahn. Took the bus to/from the U-Bahn station when we had our luggage. All other times we took the S-Bahn which stops near the house (short walk.) We arrived early and received a warm welcome. The room was very spacious, private and secure, bathroom was clean and comfortable. It’s located on a quiet neighborhood at the edge of a forest with trails. There is a Supermarket walking distance where we bought basic food for cheap and kept it in the fridge.

Comments: Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Although it took a bus and the U-bahn to get into the centre (about 30 minutes), the location was beautiful; right in the midst of a forest, near to a big town. It was extremely clean and the owner even gave us a feast to eat when we got there at 11pm as we were hungry! Thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay, though not if you wish to be in the very centre of everything. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you :-)

Comments: Fine hostel with excellent facilities. Location is 30 minutes from Berlin Friedrichstrasse by S/U-Bahn, not that far, especially if you consider the nice environment of the hostel (when we arrived boars and deers were walking in the across the hostel!). Also a plus: it is possible to cook.

Comments: Like so may options, has to suit the right group. This was one of our favourite places. We were staying with my parents and driving ourselves, and not looking for big nightlife. Given that it was easy to find, easy to use public transport into town (30 min) and the accommodation itself was very personal (you stay in someone's house!), and good value. We were very satisfied customers.

Comments: We found this guest house very suitable for our needs. It is around 20 mins away from the centre of Berlin in a nice neighbourhood. We are travelling with our 18 month old daughter, and found the generous space the room offered to be particularly pleasing. There are a number of supermarkets close by, and try the Italian restaraunt up the road. Cheap, and the Pizza ia great.

Comments: North Pool is a guesthouse. This means that you're staying in the basement of a family. The basement contains two or three very well furnished bedrooms (each with their own lock) with a home style bathroom. You will be using their laundry room (which at the time we went had a broken dryer) and their family indoor pool (appeared to be well chlorinated and filtered). There is a small kitchenette well stocked with pots, pans, and kitchen utensils, and a small fridge. Internet access means going up two flights into their office and using their personal computer when they are not using it. While the hostel is accessible, you will need to take a U-bahn train and then a bus for three or four stops, and night buses do run there. However, it is in a wooded area and thus nothing is readily accessible on foot. The owners speak some English, seem friendly and appear to be operating North Pool as a side business.

Comments: Nord Pool is well set up and the instructions for driving there were OK. It is on the edge of the 2nd zone for the S bahn so we could buy a 3 day pass and travel easily to Berlin centre. The owners were helpful and organized.

Comments: Excellent place to stay. The family who run the North Pool are very friendly and will help you with anything. The location is excellent, in forest, but within 30 minutes of central Berlin.

Comments: We traveled with two older adults (65-75) who thought this place was luxurious after spending several days in bunk beds (we thought so too!). If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle after a day of sightseeing, this is the place to be. The rooms are enormous and private with comfortable beds perfect for snuggling up with someone in. We had the entire basement to ourselves, which was really wonderful. Bring your bathing suit to enjoy the indoor pool and sauna (I wish I would have). Might want to stop at the Aldi down the street on your way in to pick up some items for breakfast in the morning- there's a kitchen with fridge, stovetop, oven & sink for you to use but no breakfast is provided. Coffee and tea are available, as is cream, sugar & utensils. Dish soap would have been nice. Getting into town is relatively simple by bus and train- plan to spend about 30-40 minutes commuting each way but the quality of this place (and the cost- it's a bargain) make it well worth the trip. Getting here can be difficult by car- directions on the website are not as clear as they sound- I would call and ask for directions. Bring cash as cards are not accepted here. Not recommended if you're looking to meet other travelers but perfect for those looking for a quiet retreat.
