Address: Piazza V. Lanza n.14 |
Our place is in a loft-style with a beautiful hanging garden situated in the very heart of Catania, in piazza Lanza n. 14, a few steps from viale XX Settembre and via Etnea, very close to Giardino Bellini and the central shopping and pubs area. more info »

| Comments: Gaetano and Eleonora were charming hosts in this quiet, yet interesting B&B. Wonderful view towards Mount Etna from the breakfast room and terrace, while the room was perfectly reasonable for the price. Gaetano happy to recommend places to visit and eat around town during your stay. |

| Comments: Really nice place. Had an early flight and Guiseppe (sorry about the spelling) kindly drove us to the airport at 4am!!!
Really nice place too, pretty easy to find.
A bit out of the way, but thats a good thing we thought anyway. |

| Comments: La habitación era estupenda, muy grande y muy bien decorada. Tenia aire acondicionado y una terraza pequeñita. Nuestra unica pega es que el supuesto baño privado está fuera de la habitación, así que tenia poco de privado... |

| Comments: That's the excellent place for all who goes for vacation not only to take some rest but also to meet very interesting and very nice people - here I have made one of my best experiences in Italy.
PS: I wish I would have such a grandfather like Gaetano! :) |

| Comments: Round the corner of Catania\'s main street so it is easy to find a parking spot for your rental car. Moreover, the city center can easily be reached by foot. |

| Comments: It's a family business and the hotel is filled with family pictures and beautiful paintings. I've been there with my baby of six month's old and they were very helpful and kind. I packed a camping crib for the baby and that was a good thing to do. The owner speaks enough English to assist you in any way. The air co in the double rooms is better than the single room, but the bathroom of the single room is the best (big-shower-bath-very characteristic). Nicole & Jinte |

| Comments: I'd like to thank the host Mr. Gaetano Mustica for a good time in Catania. I am very impressed by his beautiful house and the roof garden with the view to the Etna. It was almost a spiritual moment to have breakfast having the view to Etna in front of me. Do not forget to mention is that he is also a writer. :-)
Small but cozy place, ideal for individual travellers like me!
Do not forget to ask him the restaurant tipps! The pizza directly from the oven at the Pizzeria della Nonna and the fish menu (25 Euro) at the Trattoria Fede & Desy was a dream! Amazing italian "slow food"!
I will be back soon! |

| Comments: It was extraordinary to stay in rooms furnished with explicitly Italian taste and decorated with personal memorabilia. It was so much fun to be invited to a family party on the first night, one minute after arrival. It was very convenient to receive all the recommendations concerning local food, architectural attractions etc on the spot -plus information about good restaurants, excursions to Etna, contacts with taxi drivers etc - all in Italian, which we understood without speaking a word of Italian... |

| Comments: This is a very special place to stay.
The hostel is run by a very helpful couple. All the rooms a decorated with souvenirs from their travels around the world.
From the roof-terrace you have a grat view to Mount Etna.
I really enjoyed the stay. |

| Comments: This is a lovely hostel with spacious, art-deco rooms and well-equipped bathrooms. Eleanora and Gaetano are really helpful and nothing is too much trouble, be it early breakfast because of a trip to Mt Etna or late brunch because we'd slept in. Would have liked to stay for longer. |

| Comments: I enjoyed my stay there very much. Owned by a couple, who were very friendly and helpful. The hostel is most unusual, all rooms decorated in an Art Deco/antique style. I've never stayed in any accommodation quite like it. there is a great view of Mount Etna from the roof terrace. |

| Comments: Quite a strange place. The decoration is truly unique, a huge melting-pot of anything from modern design to completely kitsch.
The owner, some retired lawyer that writes books, is tquite freaky and unpleasant. You can't lock your room door when you go out, the toilets weren't working... not fun at all! |

| Comments: One thing we learned during our trip to Sicily is that "Bed and Breakfast" usually means "You might be sleeping in the owners bedroom." That was the case at this B and B. It is not close to the center of the city at all and it is across the street from a prison. There is no way to lock your bedroom from the outside, so when you leave the B and B, the door of your room stays open. I am pretty sure my boyfriend and I stayed in the owners bedroom, since there were pictures of him and his wife everywhere and his clothes were hanging in the closet. Overall, the owners were nice people but the experience was somewhat creepy. |

| Comments: Sirtanus is a very unique, and authentically Sicilian bed and breakfast. Though the staff is very nice and helpful, communication can be difficult if you do not speak Italian. While not in the center of the city, it is a only a ten minute walk to the heart of Catania. Be careful when taking the bus from the train station--the stops are confusing and not always as listed. |
