| Comments: Bathroom smelled and had broken shower curtain, toilet.
Door to room was not very secure, smoking smell everywhere, and double bed consisted of 2 unmatched singles pushed together. Booked 4 nights stayed just 2 |

| Comments: This hostel was right in the heart of everything, no need for the metro to most places you'd walk it just as quick! We were told in the hostel that the street surrounding it can be risky, and to take extra care at night, but we never once felt at threat, we felt very safe the duration of our stay. I would highly reccommend it! |

| Comments: We really enjoyed our stay at the Puerta del Sol, the staff were really friendly as were the other people staying at the hostel. The location was perfect for short breaks in Madrid as everything was within easy reach. It was also great to have the breakfast included. Would definitely recommend this hostel for those who want to see all the sights of Madrid in a short space of time. |

| Comments: Great location, clean rooms, nice staff. The main room and breakfast room is a great place to meet people (which I did), or not if you do not want to. Would definitely stay again. |

| Comments: No fun at all (for gay or not gay peoples). The staff is not friendly.
In the other hand, you are IN the place in Madrid to go out... To conclude, I will not recommand this place to stay in Madrid |

| Comments: The hostel was better than expected. We got a very large room with very large comfortable beds and a tv with cable. The bathrooms were cleaned every day so sharing bathrooms with other rooms wasn't too bad. The only issue I had was with the breakfast and the fact that it never changed day to day. By the third breakfast we had there, we were completely sick of the food. |

| Comments: I was received by pedro, who was a great help and really patient. Thank you so much Pedro. As for the rooms and rates, its considerably cheap (since simple ham and cheese, bread included as daily breakfast with juice milk coffee tea) for the location although I am not sure if facilities and the feeling of the individual rooms could be better? All in all rather value for money, but need to see more 'hostals' to be objective. |

| Comments: I had a small single room w/shared bath...perfect for one. For the price, well worth it. Staff polite. One host kept sending me to ¨bear bars¨ which I have no interest in. Need to have gay bar guides in multiple languages to help tourists... |

| Comments: The name 'Gay' is misleading, and the hostel doesn't use the name in its sign or other promotional material. Other than that, a great bargain in a top location. |

| Comments: Great place to stay, really cool and friendly travelers; excellent location and price!! The set up of dinning and living room areas make it easy to connect with others and make new friends. The staff was very warm, helpful, accessible and informative. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to my friends. |

| Comments: Nice, accommodating staff. Paid for a double, private. they said four of us could stay in there, if we needed. You pay for the room, not number of people. Free breakfast was a nice touch. Small bathroom though. Good location for Madrid. right in center of city. |

| Comments: we booked a room for 3 people, but could see it was only ment for 2 people,as the 2nd bed was just puched alongside the double bed, other than that all was fine,we thought pueta del sol,is not the safest place to stay in especially if u plan to come back late at night, |

| Comments: We were moved to another hostel because even if we had a confirmed booking, another guest to stay longer, and instead of relocating him, we had to be relocated in another (much worse) hostel. We we not refunded the deposit for that night... Relocation system should be reorganized. A confirmed booking CANNOT be relocated just because some guest decided to stay longer... That guest is the one who should move out. Isn't that common sense? What is more, it's just law. |

| Comments: Location is excellent as it is near to the metro station and just across the street, you will find a lot of tapas bars where u can pub crawl around. Gay Hostel Puerta Del Sol provid free coffee, tea, water and biscuits all day long so you can enjoy those. Breakfast is also pretty good, with cheese, ham, toast bread, variety of jams, cereals (in authnetic looking tin box) and muffins. Love the breakfast there. The owner is also very friendly....knowming we are from singapore, he immediately recommended that for shopping we should check our zara and mango cos its cheaper in spain. Overall had a very enjoyable stay in this hostel! Will recommend it to anyone who wants to stay. Plus i chated with a few people who stayed there and realised that they are all repeat visitors...they just keep coming back to this hostel. So thumbs up for gay hostel puerta de sol!!!!! |
