Comments: I can recommend this Ryokan to everyone traveling in Osaka. Great location - close to the Universal Studios and famous Osaka Aquarium. Very friendly English speaking staff. New fresh bad linen and yukata every evening. Great experience of traditional Japanese style accommodation. When I will come back to Osaka some day - I won't look for another option, I will book my room at Kameya Ryokan on the same day.

Comments: We enjoyed our stay here, and the location is convenient for the aquarium (also near to subway for travelling elsewhere). Shame about the 12:00 curfew. The Yukatas are good though.

Comments: Very thoughtul, helpful service - from taking our luggage up to our room to switching the air-con on for us before we returned in the evening - a very pleasant and comfortable stay.

Comments: Stayed in a shared double room with my sis on the 2nd floor. The owner speaks English. It is near the Osaka Aquarium and IMAX theatre. Room is big as compared to the usual ones in Japan. Had a good stay.

Comments: Nice place with friendly, helpful owners. They provide you with all the toiletries you need such as towels, shampoo, soap etc. Location's very handy to the train, but just outside of the main JR loop. Still very handy though. Would definitely stay there again, and recommend to others.

Comments: We had a nice stay at the Kameya Ryokan. The room was clean and comfortable, and even had a TV. The only problems we had were in communicating with the owner: we needed to cancel our reservation for the first night, and contacted him several times by e-mail, with no response. He had not checked his e-mail, but had no problem about not charging us for the canceled night. All in all, he was very kind, and his English is very good. The place is a little difficult to find (especially at night) and the directions could be a little clearer. But overall, a good stay for the money.

Comments: Resembled a bed and breakfast, very home-like. A nice reception area with a big tv if you need downtime. Rooms upstairs, with common sinks and toilets in the hall. 2 showers and 1 communcal bath in the back half of the downstairs. The couple who owns it speaks English pretty well and are very helpful. Had to take 2 subway lines from to get almost anyway, but the hotel is only a 2min. walk from the station nearest to it; also, the osaka aquarium is only a few blocks from it.

Comments: The Kameya Ryokan is very home-y and that is part of its charm. For being an inn, our accommodations were top notch! The rooms and facilities are exceptionally clean and the gentleman owner is very pleasant. You are even provided with clean towels and yukata or cotton kimono! It was our first time in Japan and we felt very safe and welcome in the Kameya Ryokan. The best part is that the inn is literally less than two minutes from the subway which makes access to Osaka VERY easy!

Comments: Our stay at Kameya Ryokan was very pleasant. It was our first stop after arriving at Osaka and the quietness was just wat we needed. The people were very friendly, nothing to complain. The only drawback was the location, we had to travel quite a bit from and to Osaka main station.

Comments: For security it would be very hard to get into the place. If you have a big bag you cant fit it into the lockers so you must trust the other people that are staying next to you.

Comments: An excellent location, in that a limo bus from Kansai takes you to a stop three minutes walking distance from the ryokan. A 1 minute walk from the ryokan takes you to the nearest subway station. A nice neighbourhood.

Comments: As backpackers, we felt a little out of place at this more couply ryokan, but it was a welcome change of pace after staying at more traditional backpacking hostels. This place is very quiet and has a midnight curfew, so it won't be for you if you're looking to get loaded on Spring Break. However, if you are looking for a peaceful place to get a good rest in relatively inexpensive private rooms, this place is great. It also gave us a chance to experience what a Japanese inn is like (floor mats, Japanese rooms, green tea in our rooms, etc). The owner is very friendly. This place is also very close to the aquarium.
