Comments: We stayed in one of the new double bedrooms at the back of hostel and had the best of both worlds - privacy and easy access to the hostels amenities. The walk to the seafront/restaurants is a drag but we hired bikes and that made life easier. The food at the Woolshed was excellent (topping up the hostel vouchers) and very good value

Comments: The private rooms with bathroom don't have toilets and the washbasins are very small. The towels are clean but they need better washing.

Comments: All in all a decent place to stay with lots of info but the pool is more of a puddle and after the 1030pm curfew there is nothing to do. All lights are set to turn of then and the TV is a strict 1030pm. The guy even comes around and turns it on sleep mode. Beds were fine and rooms were a nice temo with the air con and fan. Fine for a quick stop but not hugely exciting.

Comments: The hostel stay is really value for money. I love my stay here and will definitely recommend it. The pantry/ kitchen is good and they have amenities that you basically need. The tour desk is so helpful so you should not miss it while you are staying here!

Comments: The Hostel is a bit out of town, about 10 minutes by feet. The facilities are too small, you can't turn yourself around in the shower and the sinks are simply unusable. The guy on the reception on the first evening was very helpful with tours etc. Unfortunately the girl who was there the next day was very unfriendly.

Comments: Friendly hosts. Small room that where kept tidy and clean. Quiet hostel that was located 15 minutes walk from city centre, only thing that bothered me was that you had to put your dormkey into the A/C to get it function, u had to be in the room at the same time

Comments: This is a lovely, cosy little hostel near to the main city centre, tour desk is very helpful and will steer you right, rooms are quaint and clean, and the curfew lets you get a good night\'s kip in.

Comments: The 10.30pm curfew (lights in communal areas and tv automatically go off) means that people don't really hang out at the hostel in the evening, so if you're a solo traveller it's hard to meet anyone outside your dorm.

Comments: Was a little bit away from the main strip but is good if you are not wanting to be in a noisy party hostel like so many in Cairns are.

| Comments: I loved this hostel nothing was too much for Dave and hourimi (sorry about spelling!) The hostel is relaxed, quiet and comfortable everything it had been advertised to be and close enough to the center of things.
The only thing I would say negative is that there isn't free storage space for bags when going on a trip.
However I will be back and I'm looking forward to it.
Thank you. |

Comments: Nice little hostel just out of cairns town centre. New clean room with air con and free evening meal. the free meal is a bit small but the upgrades are cheap and a good quality, very friendly staff althogh they do like the noise level low after 10.30 at night.

Comments: Cairns City Backpackers was amazingly accommodating when we arrived before 10 am. Our room was vacated, but not yet cleaned, but they let us store our luggage until we were ready. The owners, Dave and Hiromi checked us in themselves, and were eager to provied suggestions and local tips. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a double, and this particular room had a small shower and sink. Heaven! What a pleasure to brush my teeth at night before bed in the privacy of my own room. The rooms don’t have numbers, rather pictures: ours is three boomerangs. You might be in three butterflies, for example, or two frogs. These little details make the place very homey. There is a roomy shared kitchen with everything you’d need to prepare a meal, or, if not, a voucher for a free hostel dinner at a pub downtown is included as well. There is also a TV in the open common area, a pool table, a pool, lots of tables, chairs and couches. There is also a laundry and lockers are available as well.

Comments: Overall the hostel is very comfortable and cute, Dave the owner is very helpful and is available whenever you need him. The hostel is home to a gorgeous cat, but he/she keeps its distance. Internet use is quick and cheap, and the outdoor tv area adds to to character. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Comments: Would have been helpful to have directions on how to get from the greyhound bus stop as no one knew where the hostel was. But once I found it (about a 25 min walk from the lagoon)it was nice and clean and quiet. The guys at the front desk are really helpful and got me some really good deals on my tours.

Comments: A lovely hostel and good value for money- ended up staying an extra day! It is about a 15 minute walk from the main town! The kitchen wasnt as clean as it could have been and the fridge stank!! But everywhere else was fine. Reception staff were very helpful. You get a nice evening meal for free at a local bar. Good hostel!
