Comments: We found Posada José Bocanegra to be closed when we arrived at our announced time. Completely shut down, locked up and abandoned with no notices what so ever for the people who had the misfortune to book a room. Apparently they shifted all bookings at Posada José Bocanegra to their other branch right next to Al-Hambra. But they did this without giving any notice. Don't stay at this place.

Comments: The Hostel is administrated by a very unpolite woman that has 2 senil men working more than 12 hours a day. DO NOT GO THERE NOR DOÑA LUPE´S is the same.. and the swimming pool is a bad joke

| Comments: The room was cold and filthy. There were spiders in the shower and other people's hair all of the blankets and sheets. When i requested new things, I was told there was nothing as far as clean linen and a working heater available. So pretty much, "Too bad." We would have left if it wasn't so late.
Additionally, the location is not that great. It is at least a 20 minute walk to the attractions. |

Comments: Not recommended. Staff was not particularly helpful and two of us (in two different rooms) got a bunch of bites from bedbugs. Plus they won't let you check in before 1400 or check out after 1030.

Comments: A clean, budget, little out of the way hostel. The manager Rosalbo is a great guy who will assist you with whatever you need. Bedrooms are very small just enough to fit a couple of bunk beds in and the bathrooms are tiney sufficient to stand and turn on the spot. However the small kitchen is ample for rotating through the guests. We stayed here twice in Feb 2007 a total of 9 days. At the time there was more renovation taking place to keep it looking neat and tidy. Good budget spot!

Comments: This was by far the worst hostel we have ever stayed in. The one guy that worked there for our entire 5 night stay could not speak anything but spanish, was extremely rude and angry all the time. He blamed us for the mountain of dishes that a group of italians made all the time, water leaking out of the shower stall (because there was a pound of hair in the drain, not our fault). The toilet stalls and showers were unisex, which would be okay if the men staying there didn´t pee all over the toilet seat. In addition, the toilet stalls were so small that you had to sit sideways if at all to use the toilet with the door closed, contingent on if the guy felt like he wanted to put toilet paper in the stall that day. One morning we woke up and the guy used our food for the complimentary breakfast. The place felt like a prison that we had to pay 15 euros a night to stay in. Dirty, unfriendly, terrible directions to find it.

Comments: the sercurity was so good that i couldnt open the door! each night i stayed there i had a real challenge to get in the door as the key wouldnt turn. i was told to shake the key a little and then push-sorry but i asked for a bed for the night not a workout! location not best for the charge per night.

Comments: This place really wasn't the best, except perhaps in the way that it had a cheerful sort of camradery between tenants due to the hilariously awful conditions. The fact that it's opposite a 4 star hotel adds to the irony. The rooms with their metal beds make you feel like you are in a barracks. The guy who works there speaks very little English and never smiles. If any ladies passing through there are feeling charitable, please help him get laid. I think it would do him a lot of good. Also, you will have to use the toilets "side-saddle" because the stalls are so small that the doors come too near to the front. All in all, I don't regret it but I don't recommend it.

Comments: Arriving at the hostel we were met by a receptionist who was even reluctant to let us in, let alone see us to our room without the reservation paper. The next day we wanted to extend out stay, this was 9 am, but no one was in the reception and after ringing the bell a couple of minuttes, we gave up and left a note instead. We didn´t feel welcome at all, and we cannot recommend it.

Comments: cheap, but off the map we were given by the tourist information office at the bus station. also, up a slight hill. the place was being redecorated when we were there. the kitchen is shared with the family running the place. be prepared with earplugs. even quiet conversation carries right through the top floor where most the the facilities and rooms are located. zero sound proofing. we booked a 2 bed dorm and got one bunk bed on top of another in a small narrow room. still, the price was much lower than anything else we could find on the internet !
