The room wasn't ready on time and they kept us waiting for 2 hours. It was old and shabby and the owner didn't speak one word of English. The waste-pipe in the bathroom smelled so bad after using it, we couldn't stay in the room without vomitting. We ask for another room and finaly we got it. We don't recomment this place to anybody!! The weather was fine.

The rooms are too small. The bathroom are new but we felt malodorousness of sewer and we found a roach on the shower plate. The room cleanliness is very poor. The worst thing is the noise coming from the underground metro. Every 10 minute starting from 5:00 AM up to 1:00 AM (Day After) it\'s seem to be an earthquake! It was impossibile to fall asleep. Bad experience, not recommended.

Rooms were very clean, staff helpfull and you cant find better location. Great location. Super quality for cheap price. I would for sure recomend for other traveling people. Dont waste your money for expensive accomodation - spend them on city atracions. Barcelona has plenty of them.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating England 1st March 2008 Female 41+ 2/5 Comments: This Hostel is so old and dreary and quite frightening as we arrived at 3 in the morning and it was like something out of sycho. The building itself is very old with high ceilings and massive old doors. The lights in the hallway keep flickering on and off and it is musky and dark. The owners who seemed about 120 years old could not speak a word of English unless they were talking about money. We had to walk to an apartment round the next block and upon entering this one there was not even plaster on the walls! The apartment consisted of a double bed with the headboard falling off two sets of bunk beds and massive old green bath and a kitchenette that was falling apart. We just had to laught we could not believe it however to be fair it was clean. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone, it needs to be shut down. We could not believe it!!!!!!!!!!!

We were confused about a breakfast and didn't use that fascility. Nice guy showed us our room. There was a lot to repair, but it looked rather clean. We had a good time in Barca!

Easy to get to from the airport bus stop. 10 minutes walk to Rambla and to Sagrada Familia Cathedral , 5 min to Ciutadella Park ( great place to rest during the day ). Very nice and clean rooms and comfortable beds. Room was freshly redicorated. A great place to stay - I would reccommend this hostel.

Its not a party hostel and if you are looking for hostel in which to meet lots of other people Subirats would not be that one.Great to relax after tired day. Good bathrooms but stairs needs painting. The furniture is very old. An en-suite room that exposed you to the rest of the hostel as the door was missing.

Not even in Africa and South America, where I've been more than 10 times I stayed in a such horrible place. Durty, noisy, falling aparta. I took a lot of pictures and I intend to notify the spanish authorities about a place that has no conditions at all to reciev tourists

The old owner Mister Subirats only speaks Spanish, so we could nor argue about the money. So teh Staff is very poor, but the lady's who cleaned the rooms were very kind

Complaining was useless as she only spoke little english. The staircase needs urgent renovation, but the rooms are ok and clean. We booked an en-suite room, but where told we have to share the bathroom. After arguing with hands and feed we finally managed to get a key for the bathroom to lock it, but had still to walk over the corridor to get to there. In the night it was very noisy, as there was a bar right under our window and just as we nodded of, some other guests came and we were woken up again. Can\'t about the location of the hotel, though. It is only 10 miuntes walking from the old town and 25 minutes from the Sagrada Familia. However, I only recommend it if you speak spanish so you can communicate with the ladies if something goes wrong.
