Bathroom was on the ground floor and they were squatty potties. If girls want to take a shower, you have to let them know and they will put a sign on the door for the men to not disturb. I sort of felt like it was an old person's home, because there were lots of older people walking around in the building.

It's a half-way house for old men and we met no other travellers there, just men walking around in their underwear. I'm disappointed that somewhere like this is on the website.

Free internet at neighbouring hotel. Mixed bathrooms with ａ row of odourous ｕｒｉｎａｌｓ slightly intimidating. I thought this place was fine until I awoke with bed bug bites on the 2nd morning. However, the staff were really helpful, discounted my next night considerably AND transferred me to an upgraded room in the neighbouring Hotel Taiyoh.

There are many hostel around this area. Hostel was ok. Free internet at the sister hotel 5 seconds away. No so clean but ok for the price.

Service is okay. I would recommend other hotels in the same area before this one though.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. For instance, they gave me better directions on how to get to Kouyasan than the station crew. Enjoyed my stay. However, they only allow change of bed sheets after one week. Fortunately, I made reservations in blocks of two and three days and got away with new sheets. It may sound stupid, but book in blocks instead of one whole stretch
