Nice big room, only a few minutes walk to the Duomo and Mercato Centrale, great Internet access... we have only good things to say about Il Ghiro. But best of all was the hospitality and helpfulness of Francesco, who stood out as a wealth of information even in a trip full of wonderfully helpful hosts. Would stay again!

A cosy nabourhood and most tourist sites within 10 minutes walking. Every shop you need nearby. Many good restaurants also nearby. A nice view over a cloisteryard. Everything works: the shower, the heating, the computer and so on. A very helpfull staff. The linen is like in a hotel, Bed made up every day. Excellent.

The staff is extraordinarily helpful and pleasant and multilingual, far better than those at other hostels I have been at. It is adorable, clean, well located, and the staff is just amazing. They speak english and are very helpful and friendly. They helped us find good restaurants and quickly fixed the shower when it wasn't getting any hot water. Also, they have a new computer with free internet any time. Definitely stay here!

The proprietor, Fredrico, is very cordial, helpful, and entertaining. Its location is very convenient to the train station. Location is perfect, right by the train station and really close to all major sites in Firenze. Very clean and confortable with everything you need: kitchen, laundry, free internet and several guides available. But the best thing about Il Ghiro is the very interested and helpful Francesco who gave us amazing tips about the region and told us some of Firenze's interesting history. Grazie mille Francesco!

During my stay, I was offered the followings: - printout of train schedules to Siena & San Gimignano - umbrella when the sky grew gloomy - internet usage even after the end of my stay and I had to shift to another hostel - compilation CD of the tracks when I commended on them - even folded my clothes on the bed! Just excellent!

Our room had the nice little en suite, and the shared kitchen facilities were handy. It is really close to the excellent indoor food market (beside the outdoor street market), and the restaurant next door it good too!

The location was within walking distance of several attractions (duomo, accademia, uffizi, and others). Room was very nice, clean and well organized. It looked newly remodeled. Air Conditioning was awesome!!! Community hairdryer was rigged and did not work sometimes which meant I had to hear about it from my female companion the mornings when it did not work =( Internet is free and washing machine is 3 euro to use. Clothes have to be line dried. Would highly recommend this hostel for those not looking for a party place, but a place to call home base. It is not a harbor for a collegiate drunk fest with loud parties at all hours, which is something we enjoyed. Thank you Federico for your hospitality!!

It was a wonderful experience even thought we stayed there for 2 days... Sorry, we did not notify you that we were leaving early but we waited for you until 8:20am on Tuersday and you did not showed up... that is why I left the keys on the room... We went to Rome and Venice but we agreed that the best hostal was the II Ghiro Guesthouse.... thank you for everything... I definitely am going to recommened your hostel to other people...
