Most hostelguests stayed in the hostel for a long time and were working during that time - because of this the room was filled up with staff and could not be cleaned properly. The bathrooms were very clean though. Most people go in and out of the room until 2am with lights on and then others wake up at 6am to go to work. 24 hours reception is very useful

The reason why I didn't give it "excellent" for security was because of the 4 nights I was there, I was kinda harrassed on 3 of them, by drunkards in the hostel itself. Yea it was pretty nerve-wrecking and I just rushed to my room. Well it's no big deal actually,in Australia. It happens everywhere, there. everything else was good. I would go back there again.I didn't find the staff too friendly though..

It just lacks a bit of personality, and they messed up our booking resulting in the two of us being split up into two separate rooms. More annoying than really a problem.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating - 5th November 2007 Male 31-40 1/5 Comments: After booking online more than 4 weeks prior and paying my deposit, i arrived at the hostel after being on the road for 12+ hours, only to be told there was no bed for me. To top it off, it was the busiest weekend of the year and everything else was booked solid (thats why i booked well in Advance). I ended up having tp pay $210 PER night for the 3 nights i was there, a far cry from the $37/night that i had budgeted for. This oversight/incompetence is just not acceptable. Being thrown on the street at 8pm on a friday night with no where to stay is not acceptable. I am disgusted by the poor service both at Hostels.com and the staff ar Britannia on William. I would like some answers as to what the fcuk happened to my booking. If someone has booked, has the booking number, has paid their deposit, then there should be NO EXCUSE for not accomodating them. An offer of a refund is by far no means a solution to this problem. I would like some feedback from hostels.com on this matter.
