I highly recommend others to stay in this hostel.breakfast, lunch & dinner can be ordered in the hostel, the map in the front desk of the municipality of beijing gives bus no.s for the main attractions in beijing from hostel which all one needs really. donnacha |

| Comments: Staying at the hostel we were glad to be treated by staff as their friends. They helped us to solve all the problems which usually people met in foreign countries. All of them have good command in english (please note that not many people speak English in China) and assisted us when we needed to contact only chinese-speaking people (for example, to reserve a table in a restaurant, to call to the airport). They were always ready to explain us how to find taxi, pay fees in public transport, etc. We extremely appreciated a range of paper stripes with addresses and means of transport (in English and Chinese) which you should take to get there. You can give these stripes to taxi drives or to bus conductors. Great idea! |

| Comments: A beautiful set up, that defies the dank little alley it is hidden down; though, the more local feel of the area makes for great evening meals at the many restaurants. Only qualm is the map to direct you there doesn't show just how far it is from Xidan subway stop (it's way up the street). |

| Comments: Very friendly staff, great character, feels like you are in the country side, but are in the middle of the city, the location is excellent, it is just a 30m walk to the main road, where you can catch a bus to any where, or the 22 bus to the Xidan shopping centre, from there, the nearest tube is Xidan, which is a 2 min walk, over alll a great experience, |

| Comments: Lovely hostel in charming hutongs, great and helpfull staff, the downside being the 30 minute walk to the Xidan subway station. Still the location is central, although you might find it time saving to take the taxi instead of the subway... We had a great stay though! |

| Comments: The staff is very helpful and friendly. English skills are good. The atmosphere of the hostel is phenominal, and there are many activities you can book through the front desk. The return times from some activities were not always accurate. Returning from the Great wall tour actually occurs at around 7:30PM, not 4:00-5:00PM as stated. Overall the experience was very good. |

| Comments: Excellent location, great atmosphere, and cheap restaurants nearby. I wish the hot water in the shower wouldn't take so long to warm up, but other than that it was a great stay. Will definitely come back to stay here again! |

| Comments: The staff at Beijing Lotus are just wonderful; very pleasant and helpful. Beijing Lotus is a great place to stay as there are lots of options of things to see and do in the vicinity of the hostel or just a short distance away. |

| Comments: The buildings are older, which means that there's lots of character, but also that things don't always work as smoothly. But any inconveniences we experienced were more than made up for by the attentiveness and the great attitudes of the staff. We'd stay at Beijing Lotus again in a heartbeat. |

| Comments: Place wasn\'t as close to the major beijing sights as one might think and I never found the metro station that\'s \"nearby.\" It was tough to find. Taxi drivers had to ask for directions. Place itself was nice and wandering around the Hutongs was nice. Staff was good and the beds comfy. |

| Comments: We were made to feel welcome, and the staff made sure we had what we needed.
This hotel did not have everything, but it oozed character, and we enjoyed our stay. We were asked for improvements. We were given hot water for tea for the room, this was a nice touch. I think we are seasoned travellers, towels, and maybe tea in the room would be a small but welcome gesture, but we had our own so just to say. There was no TV, so it suits a romantic situation. We didn't miss the TV! The bathroom had some nice touches, and plenty of quality toilet paper - the best so far! The walk in shower for two was nice if you book an ensuite! |

| Comments: The menu items were not prepared as expected, nor were they worth the price they were charging.
The tour costs were also pricier than what I've expected.
I was misinformed several times about where a certain place was, price of certain item and what time places were opened or closed. |

| Comments: This hostel is located in a traditional hutong area within walking distance to the Geological Museum, some temples, and a short bus ride to some popular shopping areas, TianAmen Square, the Forbidden City and 2 railway stations. The hostel itself is charming and the staff are keen to help. |

| Comments: It would have been nice if the room was a bit larger and had airconditioning. The food is quite expensive for what you get (if you compare it to some other hostels). Some of the staff should really improve their English and it's hard to relie on them when it comes to buying tickets for the bus or train.
But still, it's a great place to stay for a few days, and there's a very nice atmosphere. |
