Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Iran 3rd January 2009 Male 25-30 4/5 Comments: I spent a night in station hostel , the location is the best and the direction they gave in trav was perfect,staff were also nice and helpful and the most good fact was that the rooms were quite big (not the case in all the hostels I have been so far)and clean, it is also cheap and you get more than what you pay I believe, if I travel to koln again I will definitely stay there once more.

The lounges were great, flat-screens showing football all night, though it seems they spent all their time on them as opposed to the rooms. The bed wasn't comfortable at all and the bathrooms and lockers needed repairs.

The building is very old, so the hallways and rooms have a dinghy feel to them, even when clean. The walls are paper thin, so bring earplugs if you actually want sleep. Also, the front desk gave my room key card to some people who came busting into my room at 2 am (I had a single.) No apology offered for the mixup. Doesn't matter that the smoking room is only upstairs as the lobby area still reeks of smoke.

If you have a chance, do not sleep in cologne as you do not need more than an afternoon to visit the most important sights!

The hostel was really close to the train station and very convenient! All in all we had a good time here.

The kitchen is difficult but usable and the TV room doubled as the smoking room meaning if you wanted to watch TV you had to follow it up with a trip to the laundry.

Free wifi and bar on main level, didn't sleep in a bunk (yay!), kinda sketchy characters in hostel but that's not hostel's fault, hallways are a bit sparse and industrial but rooms were fine.
