However we were dissatisfied with the staff on the day we checked it, who was barely polite and left us wait for no apparent reason in the lobby for more than 20 minutes. Different staff on the next day when we checked out was however far more helpful and friendly.

A polite ''I will be with you soon'' doesn't take much effort. I was left standing for about 7 minutes at the desk while the receptionist completely ignored me until she was done on the phone. It was as if I didn't exist.

Unfortunately we had a rather noisy guests staying in the next room and the staff was not able to do much about it. We were also surprised at the end of our stay to be slapped with a 7% changed which was clearly stipulated when we booked.

If you can get the price of a room for 34 Euro it is worth, as hotels and hostels in Oviedo are not so good or very pricy. It is central and the staff are very caring. However, most of the rooms have their windows to inside patios which are small and seem dirty. Beware, the prices can change form one night to the next (first one we payed 34, next 45 and they wanted to charge us 82 for the third, which made us leave and find a 3star hotel for a better deal). Oviedo is a beautiful city and in a whole our stay was very nice, but this hotel can just be rated as OK.

Second, they did a great job with everything except for guarding our bags the last day. Instead of putting our bags behind locked doors for the next several hours while we went into town again (before our bus at six), they simply put them in a darker corner of the reception hall. If they had been stolen... However, everything else was very professional. Excellent location.
