But was cool despite shower being dodgy - You have to turn the hot water tap on at the sink as well as at the shower to get hot water out of the shower. Fridge was broken but Greg refunded us some money and tried to replace it. Wasn't a huge problem for us. Overall the accomodation was nice. Greg (host) was very cool. I would recommend staying here despite minor issues which i'm sure Greg will sort out.

Right near a street of restaurants and bars, easy to access by metro. Greg was incredibly helpful, and made a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Low fun rating is a good thing - it was a sanctuary from the sometimes too-much-fun of Berlin.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Germany 18th July 2008 Mixed Group 25-30 4/5 Comments: greg was great! he met us at the train station and took us to the place, and gave us a lot of information about the city and advice on things to do. the room on the east side is super cool! it is IN a church basically and has a really fun vibe to it. there is a little kitchen so you can cook for yourself. the room is huge and has a cozy feel to it. also a nice big window. you can hear the church bells tolling on sunday morning which could have been annoying, but that i thought was great.

Waist height shower was a bit weird but the location and setting more than made up for it. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Itowe gallery to any one. Brilliant for a couple as you get your own kitchen and bathroom but only pay hostel prices.

We stayed one night at the gallery itself, where Greg served a breakfast worthy of a four star hotel and did our washing. The other nights we stayed at the apartment in a 120 year old building, which was also brilliant, except for the shower. Anyway, awesome.

The room and the bathroom is super nice and that goes for the breakfast also. The room is perfectly located in a lively area with good conections to the rest of the berlin. He has some great tips as well, as to where to go & what to do and see. The room in the church is unreal- if you stay there, think of where you are staying from a birds eye point of view- so cool. The bed, ah the bed, I only wish we could have brought it back with us! What else- shower is great, though you need to get to know it at first-if you tweak that Greg, then I'm sure you'll have one of the best places in Berlin. Better than a boring hotel. Thanks Greg!!
