| Comments: Beautiful neighborhood, if a bit far from shops, etc. The room was very clean and well decorated but rather small... I could not pull out the chair all the way that went with the desk because the bed was too close. I found the mix of hostel dorms and private rooms odd. After 4 days I moved to another hotel, closer to town for half the price. I wouldn't recommend The Westend--too pricey for what you get--especially since the wifi worked for maybe 6 hours out of 4 days, phones do not dial out and the water never really got HOT. Overall, not bad, not great. Some of the staff were wonderful, a couple of them didnt seem to care about their job/guests at all. |

| Comments: It was annoying that there were no plugs in the rooms. We were 5 flights of stairs up from where there were plugs to blow-dry our hair, charge phones etc.
Room was very nice and kitchen very well equipped |

| Comments: The no alcohol rule is very annoying. Especially when downstairs in the common area.
There is a bar, but as a poor traveller it makes it hard to have a big night. The kitchen was fantastic with all of the needed utensils, and then some.
Unfortunatly the beds were too squeaky. Just a little movement was all that was needed to wake everyone up. But tother than that, it\'s a very clean friendly hostel. |

| Comments: Very clean and modern. Although, it was freezing in the dorms, but at least they had nice warm duvets. Shower very powerful and hot! Would stay here again. |

| Comments: Very clean, but it claims to be a five minute walk away from the main sites, it is more like a 25 minute walk. The reception is in the bar, which was kind of weird. The bar was nice, we went to it before going out, but no one hungout there at all. Beds squeak extremely loud and its hard to sleep due to that. |

| Comments: It's a hotel (not hostel) that also caters for backpackers!
Stay here if you need a break from cramped and dirty hostels. Great price, internet, food, bar, kitchen ect.
Loved it |

| Comments: Liked it because it was small and with good atmosphere. Seems recently renovated so all new and fresh and kept clean. It's a walk away from the busiest pubs and bars, but personally I liked it beeing in a quieter area yet not far to walk to everything. Only major down side is that the bunk beds squeek with every move, so if you're a light sleeper this would be a problem! Also, no sockets in room, so have to charge phones etc while in dining room. Still, would recommend and stay there again. |

| Comments: I think people are rude with this youth hostel. It's one of the cheapest in town. The Wifi is free (so it's perfect for people looking for a job or a flat), the breakfast is only one pound and it fills your stomach for sure. Staff members are cool and get us out of trouble. Of course, it's not the cleanest and most comfortable place. But really, don't be so tacky. |

| Comments: This experience really made our money worth. I was in a private room with my boyfriend and seamns like a nice hotel. We had a good pub close to eat and we could walk to the downtown with no problems. The common areas are ok, its not exacly a hotel to party, but that is the intention, and I like it! |

| Comments: The only problem I found was the distance from the train and bus stations. getting around Edinburgh is relatively easy by walking if you are just exploring, but with your luggage is a different story. there was no help or information in finding bus routes around the city and the only option I found to get back on my scheduled bus was to walk the long way back to St. Andrew's which took approx. 45 minutes with heavy laiden back packs. |

| Comments: With huge dorm rooms and no lockers, it is hard to feel totally secure. And it's about a 30 minute walk to the city center. But there was a convenient TV/computer room, and it was a beautiful building. |
