| Comments: Absolutely fine. The place is clean and secure. The location is good since the bus stop is only a minute' walk away. The swimming pool is nice and it's also walking distance to Playa Langosta. Complimentary breakfast and free cable TV. For the price it's very good. |

| Comments: DODGY! while we were at the pool at about 5 in the afternoon staff broke into our room and took my jewellery.it wasnt the housekeepers as the beds were made and the room cleaned so there was no reason for anyone to be in there.Management didnt care, convniently we werent offerred a safe upon check in by the staff.cheap rates but you will pay for it with your belongings. out of town need a bus,no fridge in the room.would never stay here again. |

| Comments: A beautiful hotel for the price. Staff were very helpful and hotel seems quite secure. Location is very close to Downtown Cancun - rather than the Cancun Hotel Zone.
The garens and pool are beatiful. Perfect for chilling out. |

| Comments: The hotel staff behaved disgracefully. Our room was double booked (we booked almost two months in advance) which was worrying due to the fact it is spring break and everywhere that we could afford was already full. Then to really make matters worse, the hotel staff insisted that there was not a single room free in the hotel for us to you use. They then tried to persuade us to go to a sister hotel in some grubby part of downtown, which was nowhere near the beach or the Hotel Zone. After some persistence they `magically` found an unoccupied room (meant for 4 people instead of 2) that they quite clearly did not want to put us in as they were losing out on money, and would rather palm customers off instead of apologising and initially placing us in the spare room and saving on a lot more stress than anyone would particularly want to go through on their holiday. If this is how Hotel Sotavento likes to treat there guests then I hope this sways people to think twice about staying there and being treated like dogs. Thanks for spoiling an otherwise pleasant stay in Cancun. |

| Comments: It is real more of a small hotel, loally owned and run. Very clean and staff are very nice and helpful. However, keep n mind it has no hostel feel to it, and the main clients are young families. It was very clean, there was hot water and the AC was pretty good. there wa also a nice little pool an dthe food at the resturant wasn't bad at all. |

| Comments: it is a 5 min bus ride to the party area, so no probs there. The price is unbeatable, and unlike 99.9% of other hotels in Cancun, visitors are easier to sneak in. Also, food was great. free breakfast, and a nicely priced buffet lunch. definitely will be back! |

| Comments: Don´t spend your money at the big hotels at the hotels zone. Sotavento is a perfect and lovely place to stay and only 150m to the bus stop. Take the bus out to the nice beach (13km) or the highlife around the hardrock cafe. I have already recomend Sotavento to my traveling frends. |

| Comments: This is a really nice place t stay for that price! Near busstops that can take you basicly everywhere. The hotel is located in between Cancun centre and the most exclusive hotel area. Right across the street you can take a boat to Isla Mujeres. The hotel has a nice pool with sunchairs and a restaurant serving nice drinks and food. For this price I would definately go back, however Cancun in general isn´t the best place in Mexico. |

| Comments: Restaurant/Bar empty all the time, but was there at low season so sure it would be busier at other times. Nice friendly staff and very clean. Not the best location but really easy and cheap to get to busier end of hotel zone and downtown by bus. |

| Comments: A very good hotel for the money. A bit strange policy with the rooms where the amount you pay has nothing to do with the room you live in. We lived in a double room but were three people and had to pay for a triple.
Clean and everything looks fresh, nice pool and ok breakfast and the staff was friendly. The only thing that really annoyed us (and other guests) was the constant smell of mold in the rooms. So if you're sensitve with smells this might not be "it" for you. |

| Comments: The breakfast will save you money, but is the same food every day and incredibly boring. Even the first day it didn't seem good. The rooms are nice and interesting. The safety deposit boxes require a $100 dollar deposit so I suggest bringing a suitcase that locks instead. Sotavento is a good deal for the price, since buses run so often and you can easily get to wherever you want. |

| Comments: The pool looks good but it hasn't been warm enough yet to get in. The hotel is a couple of km from the newer area, but you can easily get there by bus for only 65 american cents or 6.5 pesos. It's a great deal for how much it costs and i would recommend it. The included breakfast is just average but will save you some money. |
