Owners were not seen except for check out. The room (#6) was SMALL. 1 double poster bed and a coffin bed. The smallest bathroom I've ever seen. Toilet was very hard to flush. Even for English Standards. Very litle information on Public Transport available. When I visit York again, I will be staying elsewhere.

Then a girl came, gave me the key and told me that in the morning I NEED TO GET THE BREAKFAST MYSELF. She also told me that the heater in the room is not on, so I need to put it on to warm the room. When I got into the room, I found out that the heater wasn't working. For it to work, I had to turn the switch & hold it there until the room warm enough (that would take more than 1 hour holding the switch). I had to stay in the cold room the whole night. Luckinly, the second night i went into the room a bit earlier and I got the idea to put on the hair dryer to warm the room as I had no other option. The TV remote control was not working. I had to move from my bed everytime to switch to other channel of change the Volume. I'm really sorry for these comments but I was not satisfied at all with the service. As far as the staff are concerned, I met the person only when I came into the house and when I gave the key. So I cannot tell you whether they are Very poor, poor, average, good or excellent. I hope that we will not have any trouble of this type next time we are booking with hostel world. Many thanks, Rana (00353861780049).

It's located in a nice leafy area and a good 10 minute walk to York Minster. (a pleasant walk). My single room was huge, with a double bed and a great view of the night sky. Breakfast was delicious. The family was extremely friendly and so helpful. I will definately stay here again.

Alot of mould in the shower, paint falling from roof above shower, pillows flat as a pancake, matress very uncomfortable...and rather than a short walk to the Minster..more like 20 to 30 mins.

The room was okay for a short stay--the bathroom (particularly the shower) wasn't very clean and the toilet clogged almost immediately. We did have a good breakfast.
