| Comments: I stayed in Western for 3 nights, starting 17th of March (Paddy's day). I was there early, but there was a vacant room,so I checked in immediately.Reception staff was efficient and polite. First impression when entering the building is a bit weird, you pass the main entrance and you have to walk at the back of a corridor to approach reception desk. Corridors on the floors are a bit strange too, with small steps and doors here and there. Rooms are decorated in an old fashioned way that makes furniture look old without been actually old (well, with a couple of exceptions)-in a bad way! Bathrooms seem to be recently renovated, much better looking than bedroom area. Both bath and bedroom quite large. My room (406) had a window overlooking a busy street,so it was a bit noisey.Room and public areas very clean and tidy.Breakfast area is situated between 1rst and 2nd floor, decent breakfast with a buffet with the usual sellection of yogurts, cereals, juices etc, and then you can order cooked breakfast(included in the price of course!) La Vache Qui Rit cheese on the buffet a nice touch!Waitress was quick and polite, didn't seem to speak lots of English though. I didn't go to the bar or the restaurant of the hotel,so I can't comment on that...The greatest thing about this hotel is it's location. 2 minutes walk from Eyre square and 5 minutes from Bus/Train station!!! In general it was a pretty nice stay. I may be back there again, no problem. |
