When we asked to be moved to another room...staff not very helpful. We ended up paying 70 euro a night to be upgraded,for early Janurary big money...the upgrade was very good.

Beautiful furnished in a historic building and a very handy location, right by the rialto bridge. And surprising for europe, it had a good shower. our room was quite small (which we had expected), but we feel that overall it was excellent value for money.

Put into Casa Art which was very nicely decorated but no air-con and it was very hot weather. The staff kept saying that they had rung the guy but nothing happened We had to have the windows open and got bitten to buggery. Nice enough breakfast, got 8 Euros deducted when complained about air - con. Good location.

Situated fairly close to the main attractions of Venice, not that there are many...Hotel receptionist will open the door for anyone who buzzes.

They have a framed sign on the wall that says their machine is down for a few days. So make sure you have cash.

The staff was ok; the first man we talked to pretty much did as little as possible to help us. We asked him several questions very typical to tourists and he didn't provide any good answers. We asked him where a good place to eat was and he recommended a place vaguely knowing how to get there, but not knowing the name. The other owner, however, was much more helpful. We were unsure about whether our flight would be on time and how to get there, and he immediately looked up all the details we needed providing much more help than we had anticipated. He did everything possible to make sure we had a great stay. Would stay here again.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Australia 17th October 2006 - - 3/5 Comments: The hostel â€" really well situated near the Rialto Bridge â€" was full when we arrived, so management put us in a second-floor apartment next door which appeared to be somebody’s home! No complaints there â€" and outstanding value. Breakfast â€" the customary white bread roll and jam -- was delivered promptly and served at a lovely table by the window. Venice was still a crowded tourist hell hole in September, and this was a welcome sanctuary. The hostel was clean, the regular rooms we saw were big by Italian standards but the position alone makes it a good choice.

Also, it was by the front door where we could hear people coming and going. Beds were bit hard and pillows were too flat. Staff was very helpful and the place was very clean.
