| Comments: We only stayed here for one night, but enjoyed it very much and would certainly stay here again in future.
Sky Sleeping is located on the 8th floor of an apartment block which is about ten minutes walk from Teatro Massimo, and therefore a good base for exploring the sights of Palermo. The hostel has been recently renovated, and is bright, vibrant, modern and very comfortable - the finishing touches and extras (such as a hairdryer, mini-fridge and hydro-massage shower) make the place feel more like a hotel than a hostel.
Our room was perhaps a little on the small side, but fine for us, and had a small terrace with fantastic views over the city. Breakfast was also served on a terrace, and constituted a range of sweet pastries as well as bread and a choice of cereals (which is a bit more varied than other places we have stayed in Sicily, where the only option is often pastries).
The hostel felt very safe, and was surprisingly quiet for Palermo (probably due to being on the 8th floor). The owner, Massimo, was welcoming and professional, and happy to accommodate our request for an early breakfast as we were catching an early flight that morning.
Sky Sleeping is a little more expensive than some other hostels located in the same area, but if you're happy to pay a bit more for the extra comfort, finishing touches and fantastic views, then we would highly recommend it. |
