Globetrotters is more like a converted motel than a hostel. The pool, though it is tiny, is a blessing in the boiling heat of Townsville. Globetrotters is near all the restaurants and bars and although there are many that say they stay open until 5am, the nightlife isn\'t all that great unless you go on a weekend. I suggest you skip Townsville and go straight to Magnetic Island

Room was nice ensuite also had a tv. Has a good free brekfast too and the staff are nice and friendly too.

It maybe a good idea to change the towel at the toilet regularly, as it is black and dirty on the last night of my stay. Also, just want to report that I have tidied up my bed, yet someone thought it is a bed with no one, and she puts her stuff onto my bed. And thus, I was left with a bed with dirty blanket. Luckily, the reception has not been closed, and I can get a new blanket. It maybe a gd idea to change all blankets

If you want a quiet night then earplugs are essential. Not the cleanest of places, and the kitchen is very small, but they offer free breakfast which id varied and good, and the staff are a credit to this hostel! Don't use the internet cafe inside though, it's a rip off and the computer I picked was very slow and some of the keys on the keyboard didn't work! There's better internet cafes in town

Beds were a bit cheap and nasty - very thin mattress. Our bathroom door didn't close properly. Really hot at night because the a/c wasn't very effective. Bedding and room reasonably clean, and great location - close to everything.

Surely you could have arranged one of the old fashioned credit card swipers so I didn't have to incur the cash advance fee on my credit card.

The staff were really nice though.
