The location is a bit away from all the parties and sights, but that's no problem since you can hop on a tram right outside to get anywhere you want. I'll come back to this one!

The walls are very thin so if your neighbours are noisy then don't expect to get too much sleep! Also, the owner/reception guy cooked in the kitchen at around 11pm when we were there. It is pretty hot in the room, and when we opened the window we let in a plague of mosquitoes!

You definitely need a tram ticket for the time you're going to be in Amsterdam. Unfortunately the other people in the Homestay were incredibly noisy both nights we were there and the rooms are not at all sound proofed. Maybe a bit expensive for location, but still a nice place.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating USA 3rd March 2008 - - 4/5 Comments: i\'ve been to amsterdam for countless of times and i should say i know it like the back of my hand. i\'ve stayed in all thinkable budget accommodations and i believe, the horror stories about decrepit and execrable rooms are true. so when i booked this accommodation because of course of its really cheap accommodation, i didn\'t expect anything better than the usual. but what a breathe of fresh air! this little hotel rocks!!! the whole place is clean, roomy and lively! benjamin, the all-around reception guy, goest to extra length just to help out! my laptop broke down and asked him where i could have it fixed and he asked if he could take a look. in a few moments, he made it work again and didn\'t charge me at all :) and yes, they have free internet. so handy for someone like me on the go. the neighborhood has a laid-back atmosphere and everything is just within walking distance or a short tram or bus ride away. we checked out the nearby dapper market the next morning and we were just amazed in the selection of stuff available on sale there. and the prices are really cheap and haggling is always possible. we ended up buying nice souvenirs for our friends back home. we noticed later that the goods were made in india. but the quality is really good and who cares anyway? we bought it in amsterdam :) i will definitely be staying in this place again on my next visit next month!

WAY overpriced for the location, it was extremely out of the way of any of the sights/museums.

The hostel is 15 minutes walk from the very center of the city. Maybe cleanliness is a cons. They could have cleaned the shared restroom more often. Overall it was a nice stay.

We weren't allowed to use it, but the staff washed towels etc almost constantly. Tumble dryer was exactly behind the wall of our bed and the whole bed shook with the dryer. Only doors locked were the rooms and there was a "free" access to the kichen by anyone who lived in Albay. Couple of drinks were taken from our fridge but the staff was nice to replace them. Kitchen equipment included microwave and an electic kettle and there wasn't even a proper knife to cut bread or so. Location was ok and the staff friendly.
