Comments: The staff didn't seem to know anything about the Derby or the area, but they did try to help me as best they could. The dorm room was clean, but very nondescript. The place had no character at all. It also wasn't easy to find (would have been easier if they'd just told me beforehand to hop on the 61 bus down Osmaston Rd). Overall I wasn't impressed and couldn't wait to leave.

Comments: We had a problem because we had a double private room and one single room, and when we arrived they told us that the double room was shared with other guys. I understand when something is wrong, but I can´t do it when they don´t give any apologise or tell you or you take the room in five minutes or go. Finnally, after tell them we would go to another place, they gave us two rooms, one double private and one big for one person. It´s the first time I have problems in a backpackers or similar.

Comments: We were the only people in the hostel on a friday night. Has been recently modernised to a decent standard, nice kitchen but only a microwave for cooking. Lounge area also nice, No hot water the night we stayed. Trafic is a bit loud if your room faces the road.

Comments: I thought the money I paid to you was the deposit. Youse took £4.04 off my credit card instead of £1.60 deposit and £1 service charge. I would like youse to refund the £1.44 back on to my credit card. The hostel was very good, they moved me to a quieter room when I requested.

Comments: it would be a very good place to stay just for a rest. indeed it is a very far walking distance from city centre. Staff is nice, but itz too boring there. it has hardly facilities, besides a tv. one more thing, the shower is really hard to control the temperature, hot at this moment while it would become freezing next min.

Comments: It would have been nice to have a washbasin on the room or at least to have more than one in the whole hostel for everyone.

Comments: Ok, difficult to know where to begin here. Most of the week I was one of only about three guests!

Comments: It was a small hostel that served it\'s purpose. Our room was hot so we asked to open the window and were told that we could open it but that we shouldn't leave it open because the hostel was located on a very bad street. The staff also had no idea where to go get food. The hostel had a wonderful kitchen, and a beautiful dinning room. The beds were comfortable.

Comments: Clean, cheap and convenient place to stay for a few days. Everything is new. Recommended if you need a cheap nights rest. Derby isn't the prettiest of towns but the hostel is good. Only 100yds from Derby's new climbing gym.

Comments: about a 10 minue walk from the train station, close enough to most things. no real atmosphere or character, mainly just beds and a bathroom. however, the place is very clean and the staff is welcoming and helpful. worst part = no stove in the kitchen! you won't be cooking food here...

Comments: I enjoyed the stay at East Midlands. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A little more knowledge of the local area will help improve their service even more.
