If you have the chance be sure to go on the free walking tour and the pub crawl. The free drinking games were also of fun, especially if you like sangria, and Bruce who ran ours was alot of fun! Breakfast was just normal standard, cornflakes, toast, tea etc.

Only things that weren't up to scratch were the size of the toilet cubicles (stressfully small!) and the lacK of space for sitting for the free breaky!

One annoyance: Wifi is limited to the lobby and was very temperamental when I was there. Probably not be the best hostel to meet people, but the essential lodging purpose was fulfilled. Expect to pay a 15 euro sheet/key deposit at check-in.

The kitchen and 'lounge' area are rather dull and unappealing though. A good and cheap base for exploring Madrid.

Perhaps it's a cultural difference that some people think it's okay to turn lights on and hold long conversations at 0200 or later while other people are asleep.

I dont normally do hostel organised activities but I liked these ones.

It is definitely not a place to hang out and meet other travelers. Copped a bit of 'tude from one of the staff as well. The guide on the free tapas tour was good though.
