A nice touch and totally unexpected. Not the cleanest place I've ever stayed though.

The staff are super friendly and the free breakfast is amazing. They have an in house massage palour where you can also get pampered with facials, pedicures and manicures, and there's a really decent swimming pool (nice and deep!). Compared to the rooms we were paying for in the USA and Europe (similar price too) the standard room seems luxurious by comparison.

Unfortunately staff working at tourist information desk were only after petrol vouchers and commission which they can claim if they drop you off at places you dont want to go like a silk factory and a handicraft store.

It took some persuasion to get them to credit the 600baht to our bill but sorted in the end! Moral- don't pay driver direct!

The major bad point was that I had to walk through a poor and pungent smelling area to find a good restaurant or some entertainment. However, for a cheap price, you really can't ask for too much.
