Kitchen items like pots and pans were kept behind the reception desk so you had to go fetch them in order to prepare anything. And there was no oven available for self-catering use. I'd stay somewhere closer into town next time.

When we arrived the kitchen was in the most disgusting state and I felt like cancelling my stay! If you have heavy bags from travelling beware as there are steep steps up to the rooms.

A bit of a bus ride but still walkable from the city center if you miss the last bus of the evening. Good bargain for the price. It helps when the roommates are considerate as was my good fortune. Made a couple of friends among them which is the great part about hostelling.

Even using GPS we had difficulty and when calling the hostel to explain where we were at the reception desk didn't seem to know the town well enough to give us directions as to where to go. Upon arrival though the staff was prompt and courteous and we were quickly given a room. The difficulty we experienced was with roommates coming back at 4 & 5 a.m. Knowing we would be traveling early the next morning made it a bit difficult. It would have been nice to have perhaps been placed with like-minded guests.

It is clean and has plenty of space. A bus runs right by the hostel to take you into town. The people were nice and I would definetly stay here again!

Cork Hostel was lovely and quiet even for the new year celebrations. Kitchen and eating areas and loounge are nice and the staff friendly. A good place to base out of, for seeing south western Ireland.

It was across from Cork University, but a little ways from town (35-45min walk from the coach station). I consider this 'walking distance' but for those who don't, there is a bus. I highly recommend this hostel!

Parking in the back is an absolute mess (if you're not careful, you'll have your car blocked in). Location was a little difficult to find (if you're driving, it's easy to whip right by it, they need a bigger sign). Bathrooms get dirty very quickly.
