Not much in the way of character or 'fun', but it was really nice and the kitchenette was awesome! Staff was also helpful. If they had free wifi it would have been even better. I would stay there again.

We would like to thank the gentleman who helped us on reception on Thursday 10th April morning, he helped us find the station to plan our trip and was very friendly. The lady however on the 2nd morning was unhelpful and rude, which was a shame. I would recommend the hotel though, the location is brilliant and the room was very clean.

The last time we ended up in a suite with a separate bedroom, bath and kitchenette. We weren't expecting that as we only booked a normal room. This time we had a normal room, but were pleased with how big and clean it was. we'll probably use this property again in future visits.

Fantastic location in Verona but shower leaked and more water coming out of shower hose than head. Beds dangerous - genuinely!! Breakfast poor to non-existant with staff that made it seem like everything was an effort. Not recommended!!

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Ireland 21st September 2007 Mixed Group 18-24 2/5 Comments: We (my boyfriend and I) stayed in Castelvecchio Hotel for 3 nights. The first night we arrived we were barely greeted by the woman at the desk. She had very little English, which made communications difficult as we had very little Italian too. This would not have been a problem had there been other staff to assist us. However, the hotel was grossly understaffed and undermaintained too which became apparent when we realised the air-con did not work in our room. Don't be fooled by photos of 'kitchens' in the rooms- a cooker is pretty useless if you are not provided with any cooking utensils, or cutlery to eat with. Breakfast was a bread roll or two, in dining room staffed by one woman. Cereal was provided but no tea or coffee were offered. We were disappointed by the unfriendliness of the reception and by the 3 flights of stairs we had to climb with heavy suitcases (one in the dark as no light bulb) as the lift only reaches the 3rd floor. To conclude-the only reason to stay here is the location-5 mins away from the arena, 10 mins by taxi from the train station.

The staff was professional and responsive. The location is perfect and they even have a small parking garage, all this in the historic center of Verona!! This combination is extremely rare in Europe. Very recommendable!!!
