There isn't anything to do in the town and the hostel is big and bland! It is a good place to stay when flying out of shannon, only 15 min away.

DO NOT stay here if you are traveling by public transportation. Also don't be fooled it is a good 8 mile hike or so down to Bunratty castle and there are no side walks its all very narrow country roads that are scary to walk down!

It seems secure, but that's because there's not much else around, and there were only four or so people staying at the hostel when we were. The staff was nice enough, but you have to make your own fun. Bunratty Castle is not close to this hostel. It is at least three miles away on open roads, and this was recommended to us as just a walk down the road. We took a taxi back.

The owner was very nice and kept the place very clean. The sheets even smelled good! The kitchen was HUGE, they have a nice game room, and an outdoor courtyard.

We didn't get there until really late and only stayed a night but the staff was REALLY helpful and the restaurant is delicious! I would definitely recommend staying here!!

The owner lights a fire every night in the lounge and there is a tv or you can read or play games. about a 2 minute walk from the center, which has a grocery store and lots of bars. Nowhere really to get dinner though... we just cooked for ourselves.
