They are not perfect in English, but good enough to get by. It is very close to public transport. Great kebabs next door. Considering you need to catch a train to see the sights in Berlin, the location of this hotel is very good. Nice and quiet too. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

BUT this hotel is a LONG way from the centre, approx 7 stops on the tram, then 14 on the train, so allow 45 min to get to the centre.

This is the best place to stay for the money, the rooms are big and clean, I paid for a room without a bathroom and they upgraded me anyway. The breakfast is fantastic, with fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, meats, cheeses and more. It's a little far away from the city center, but it doesn't take long to get to with the public transit and if you want to go to the forests or the concentration camp, it's very close to those.

Very friendly staff and a great place to crash after a long night; however, it was rather far from central Berlin. It took us about 45 min to get from Tiergarten station to the hotel. Beside that, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Also, even though the property is a bit out of the main Berlin city area, there is public transport right outside the door, and the staff are more than willing to explain the best way to get whereever you need to go (they even sell public transport tickets). The rooms were comfortable and very clean - a very enjoyable stay.

The location itslef is a bit out of the way, but is very close to a major transit hub (10 minute walk, or wait a little bit for a tram that goes right in front of the hotel itself). It is safe and clean, though the breakfasts are pretty simple. :-) :-p I recommend it to travelers on a budget, Berlin seems to be an expensive city, so this place seems pretty good. I would stay there again based on the friendliness + knowledge of the staff alone...
