Comments: It was a friendly atmosphere, sometimes the neighbors were a little loud. Good location and very affordable. We were satisfied.

Comments: We were able to walk to some life in the area and there were lots of buses cruising around. Cleanliness... we were dissapointed that there wasn't soap near the bathroom or anywhere, yikes! Overall it's not a terrible place to rest your head if you're just looking to sleep there and spend very little money - be prepared to park your car a couple blocks away ; )

Comments: Sehr gute Lage und sehr nettes Personal. Allerdings war es etwas laut, da man alles hören konnte, was am Flur passiert ist. Insgesamt aber sehr empfehlenswert!

Comments: This was a great place ot stay on a budget, make sure you ask for a room away from the road though as it's very noisy in the roadside room next to reception. Very friendly great place to stay.

Comments: Staff was friendly and helpful, the location is right downtown so you can get to anywhere pretty quickly and cheaply. However, if you drive you'll be paying for parking during the day, and downtown at night is loud! You might have trouble sleeping because of that. The beds are in questionable shape as well, so understand what you're getting into. It's a solid place, but if you have sleep needs, maybe not for you.

Comments: We left the car on private parking lot as was recommended by hostel staff. Someone broke the window and stole a backpack with a sleeping bag from the car. This is probably not a good area to stay overnight with a car!

| Comments: The only thing was that it became a bit hot (in the 34 deg C summer days) - due to the lack of air conditioning and no fan. We had to prop the window open with a book but still had poor air flow.
Otherwise, very happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel. |

Comments: We liked the atmosphere. Another time we stayed at a hotel of a hotel chain which was really steril. Location is perfect to get to see everything in downtown vancouver.

Comments: A very nice a clean little hotel, ideal for backpackers/business travellers who want a cheap, yet clean hotel. Location is brilliant, staff are great, not the most social of places, but great overall

Comments: We recommend the St. Clair Hotel to anyone travelling in or through Vancouver. It is very clean, extremely quiet at night, and close to great bars, clubs, art galleries and more. It is old but well maintained; the rooms are decent sized and have bunks but are very cozy. No A/C but it wasn't hot while we were there. It closes at 10 making it more secure - don't worry, you'll get a key so you can stay out as late as you want! Plus, it's very cute.

Comments: We were only here one night because the Urban Hideaway next door (where we spent most of our stay) was booked for the last night of our time in Vancouver, so we didn't have much time to form an opinion. The staff was very friendly upon check-in. The room was spartan, but clean. If you stay here, bring shower shoes because the showers were a little bit iffy (though not gross). Overall impression: no frills, but adequate, and the price really can't be beat.

Comments: This was a great find in downtown Vancouver. The location was excellent and the price was a bargin. We would certainly recommend St Clair to other travellers.

Comments: Our rental car got broken into (passenger window smashed in), didn't have anything in there to steal. We were parked in the parking garage across the street from the cathedral. Other than the car inconvenience, our stay at St.Clair hotel in Vancouver was quite pleasant.

Comments: I liked this place a lot - very laid back yet clean and quiet. Officially no smoking, though they didn't seem to do anything about the lingering odor of pot that was pervasive, so as long as you don't mind that, it's a good deal especially for its location near Gastown.

Comments: The staff at the hostel were very friendly and welcoming, Although i say the seecurity was excellent, i wouldn't have wanted to be staying there alone. The area was okay, good location but again i wouldn't be out at dark on my own-a little dodgey...clean though:)

Comments: This was a great hostel. I really do not understand some of the other comments that express concern about security. I felt completely safe the entire time. A laid back place to stay for cheap that is well run and clean. :)

Comments: Friendly Hostel in a pretty dodgy area of town. Room looked like it may have been broken into previously and the windows did not lock. Warm Showers and reasonably comfortable beds albeit loose. Staff were excellent. Needs a good clean but then its pretty cheap so you can't grumble. Would stay again.
