Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Singapore 23rd June 2008 Couple 31-40 3/5 Comments: We had 2 Heavy luggages (about 32Kg each) as well as 2 other trolley bags and were "upgraded" to a nice spacious room with stove (but without pans) and private bathrooms and WC. the catch is....we'd to lug all that up 5 steep stairs!!!! and the shower is not very good. It switches from extreme cold to hot spontaneously. The drainage for that was bad too as it seems to choke up quite abit. However, the room was BIG! and great breakfast everyday.

The receptionists were pretty helpful and all knew at least some English. However, it is on a street with a TON of sex shops, and shares an entrance with a sex shop, which was a little uncomfortable for a woman travelling alone. Also, it is very close to the main train station, but the directions they give to the hostel were worthless!

My only negative comments are that, although I stated I'd arrive at 11am, I was told I wouldnt get into the room til 4pm, with a bit of haggling I got this reduced to 2pm, even so, I still had to leave my luggage in the reception for 12 hours as I didnt want to waste the full day I had in hambug waiting for my room, the only other thing was that it was lucky i am able bodied, as my room was at the top of the building 5 floors up and there was no lift, so not ideal for disabled or people who have difficulty climbing stairs other than that the accomodation was in my opinion very good, clean and friendly.

The hotel itself is nice, good rooms, free breakfast, cheap internet, english speaking staff.
