Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating - 15th June 2008 Female 31-40 2/5 Comments: Our room was located on the ground floor and to access it we had to walk through the hotel restaurant! The room was large but the beds were awful - hard. They did not have a mattress and so the sheet could not be tucked into the bed and kept sliding around during the night. The staff were noisy in the early morning, showing no consideration for their guests. The breakfast was basic but acceptable for a few days - cornflakes and toast. Also, there is a midnight curfew.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Canada 30th July 2007 Female 31-40 3/5 Comments: Hotel Makrovilag is centrally located near the market in Budapest and easy to find from Kalvin Ter metro station. There is nothing fancy about this place, but it's an adequate hostel for a few nights if you're on a tight budget. We paid for a 2 bed double room, and were given a 6 bed dorm, so there was lots of space. No free towels and no cleaning during your stay. A breakfast of cereal, toast and coffee is included. It is also very close to a street full of restaurants.

The breakfast is bare, but you can order ham and eggs for 1.5 euros. The location is right off of Kalvin square which is on the metro line... I would recommend it as a cheap alternative to staying in a dorm room some where.

You are in the very centre of Budapest by low fare! They don't clean the rooms during the stay. Don´t expect too much and you will be satisfied!

Security could be a bit better. Location was perfect. Certainly our money's worth. I wonder however how the stay would be during the high-season.

It is nice, clean, the people are very fine and kind. the only thing, that i do not like it is that the breakfast is not so good, but there is not important at all. The makrovilag is very good!
