Comments: We stayed in a twin room for two nights and a dorm for two nights, and were impressed with both. The place has great facilities - excellent kitchen, food shop, TV room etc - and a good vibe. We were grateful for the privacy curtains on the bunks in the dorms. And we didn\'t mind having to catch the shuttle bus into Edinburgh; it was worth it to stay in a place with all the other conveniences. Beware the Scottish midges, though!

Comments: Had a lot of fun! Got to watch Braveheart on the big screen (fitting being in Edinburgh and all). Very secure hostel with cashless system in place. Located far from city centre but perfect if you have a car since parking in city centre costs about 15pnds/24hrs and they provide a fairly inexpensive shuttle. Bathrooms were fairly clean but the female showers are only lukewarm and the bathrooms are freezing making for an uncomfortable bathing experience! All in all really enjoyed our stay.

Comments: My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights at the Globe Trotter in a 6 bed dorm ensuite. It was one of the best hostels we've stayed at. Very well layed out kitchen, bar and common room. Welcoming and friendly. The rooms were great with good privacy and security. Was a little out of town but the shuttle bus is really good. Only thing was the shower was cold. Highly reccommended.

Comments: globetrotters are always good hostels, the individual curtains on the beds really are a nice touch. It was quite far out of town but the hostel shuttle bus was convenient to help out with that. would stay again in a heart beat :-)

Comments: Great place, and easy to get to on the bus, which is not very expensive. The place has everything you'd want except free Wifi. And the area surrounding the hostel is quite nice, right on the water!

Comments: Comfortable room and decent kitchen. The Hostel is like a maze to navigate. Good location if you're driving around (which we were), but a little ways out of town and could be a hassle to find in the on foot in the dark and rain.

Comments: Great hostel...one of the best I stayed in. Great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and excellent shttle bus transport every hour to and from the city. Just a few issues I had which are the terribly dirty cupboards where people had left food...there was mould everywhere...and not enough room to cater for the storage of food. Also the breakfast was rediculous...a child sized box of cereal, orange fruit drink (not real juice) and white processed bread for toast. And the internet...you are not allowed to download photos to send to family back home...the reason being some virus went through their computers so they \"reacted\" in a way that is crazy...if all the internet cafe\'s around the world did the same they would go out of business. Strange. But really nice location, great staff, big movie room (yet the chairs are uncomfortable and if you move a toe in them you miss what was said on screen due to the loudest metal screech you will hear).

Comments: We stayed 4 nights. There were real mattresses & warm blankets. The privacy curtains on the bunks made it like your own cozy little room. Everything was great! We really appreciated the board listing all the cheap places to eat. The Potato Shop was a Real Find! We are coming back to Edinburgh next year & will be booking our lodgings at the Globetrotter's Inn! Thanks for a Great Stay & we look forward to returning next year!

| Comments: Bunks were cute and had a curtain for privacy. The kitchen was fully stocked/functional in utensils needed to cook your own food.
Even though it was a little out of town, this meant that it was quiet lat at night and thus easier to sleep.
Overall, a great place to stay, highly recommended! |

Comments: We had a private twin room and we enjoyed the TV, the equipment for cooking tea and coffee and the free towels and linen and the free breakfast. The cinema room is a very good thing. We did not like the atmosphere in the dining room - a bit more colour and different furniture would change the atmosphere immensely. The possibility to buy stuff in the shop is great.

Comments: Was a great hostel, probably the best we've stayed in so far. Location wasn't in the city of Edinburgh if thats what you're looking for but is right on the coast, so great views. Only problem was the showers were cold, we were there for only one night so dont know if this was just a one-off things. highly recommended!

Comments: I really enjoyed my short stay at the Edinburgh Globetrotter Inn. Having never "done" hostels before I was a bit wary but everything was fine - rooms clean & staff helpful. Particularly liked the location as it gave the best of both worlds - great sea views and fresh air with easy bus transport to the city centre. Would highly recommend.

Comments: I loved this place, even though it was a fair ride to get to it from the central part of town, but they did provide a shuttle. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There were a lot of things you could do at the hostel, such as watch movies, get on the internet, watch tv, etc. The security was also good, because there were lockers in the room for every bed, and they were big lockers. All said, I would recommend this place highly.
