| Comments: Sometimes quite loud, having TV room and bar in the same place. Couldn't change channel on TV, was controlled by manager. 10 bed dorm very crampt, 4 bed dorm much better though. Otherwise cheap and cheerful. |

| Comments: We had a very good impresion, we have read before in a "Trotamundos" book that it was untidy and not clean but it wasn't true. We recomend this hostel as well as the town. |

| Comments: People make too much noise at night so if you're looking for a good rest, that's impossible...Almost all members of staff are helpful and polite, but there is a French girl that's really rude. Roomates were respectful.Location is good. |

| Comments: The staff were unhelpful and not really bothered about anything, quite rude I guess. The rooms were really hot and crowded, but the location of the hostel was good. |

| Comments: A fun & friendly place with really good facilities (eg kitchen, common rooms). A great place to chill for a while if you need a break from hectic travel. Also brilliant value for what these guys charge!! |

| Comments: This was the worst bed I have ever slept on. It had a board running right down the middle that just killed your back. They were all like that in my room. I had to wait around for someone to show up at the desk when I checked in and when I checked out (to get my £5 deposit back - I\'m not sure what I put the deposit on in the first place!) I\'m not too picky but I hated this hostel. |

| Comments: Perhaps my stay was too brief to give a proper, typical experience of the hostel, but, while it essentially provided adequate accommodation, I found it fell short, in many respects, of what was advertised on Trav.com, and made several hidden charges. Trav promised free tickets to local nightclubs, plus drink discounts, yet I was told at the hostel that these were only available on certain nights and only involved one particular club. The receptionist did not know about this offer and had to consult a colleague. Similarly, Trav also promises free left-luggage storage for people who book via the website, but the receptionist claimed not to know anything about this and charged me £1. Further money went down the drain with the unannounced (until the booking page) £1 website booking fee, plus a 50p surcharge for paying the balance by credit card, plus a £5 deposit at reception (even though I had already paid a deposit). Breakfast was
adequate but only showed a partial resemblance to the photographs displayed outside the building, which depicted bounteous bowls of fruit and plates piled high with meat, as well as the more spartan options of bread, spreads and cereal which were the only items actually available during my stay. Security and rule enforcement seemed lax - I was not challenged about walking through an internal door, and several people were chatting at 1.30am in a corridor outside the bedrooms despite an allegedly strict rule of silence after 10pm. Another drawback is that only two basins are provided in the male shower room. Also, although civil in performing their duties, some of the staff seemed rather grumpy/passive-aggressive. On a more positive note, the hostel provides essentially-good-value, comfortable accommodation, and the city-centre location is convenient. But it advertises more perks than it actually delivers - which is especially disappointing if, as in my
case, these factors helped to sway your decision to choose this hostel in the first place. |

| Comments: The bedroom had only one large central light, which people would come in and switch on as and when they liked throughout the night. The lighting arrangement in the room meant that switching on the main overhead light was the only option, thus waking me repeatedly through the night. Perhaps a dimmer lightbulb, or a polite reminder to people when they check in to use the lights with consideration to those who might be sleeping? |

| Comments: Unimpressed. We were told that breakfast would be served starting at 8. At 8:15 there was not yet breakfast and no one at reception yet. It wasn't until a woman who needed to get her purse that was locked at reception went and woke them up did they come out and begin the day. Really old creaky beds that seemed a bit unsturdy. Toliets didn't always flush. Glad I was only there one night. |

| Comments: This was a pretty alright place to stay while in Oxford. Location was great if coming from the bus or train station! Staff was friendly. I would recommend bringing shower shoes! My only complaint was the other guests - very loud and while the hostel has set quiet hours that we have to sign a form agreeing to, they were not enforced or respected. Please do a better job monitoring the loudness. Thank you! |

| Comments: Too many long-term residents and they have made the dorm their place. Rooms are smelly and the lock of the doors sometimes didn't work. There weren;t enough cutlery during breakfast and the kitchen is so small for so many people. There were only 2 washing basins and 3 showers for all females and it highly depends on your luck on how long you have to wait in the morning. It is the worst backpacker hostel I have ever stayed. |

| Comments: Good value for money. Very friendly atmosphere. Breakfast much appreciared. All communal areas too small for the number of guests. Bed numbering is not clear and this led to confusion. |

| Comments: The lock on our door needed fixing, which was a bit of a hassle. Really nice staff. I was travelling with my 71-year-old mother and this was her first experience of a non-YHA hostel. Suprisingly, I think she enjoyed it! |

| Comments: Seems to be more live-in staff than actual guests! When I arrived, there were a number of new receptionists, so it was a very frustrating check-in process, but overall a good hostel. The common room area gets a bit overcrowded though and watch out for the beds in room 5 - slats of wood in random places underneath make for an awkward sleep. |
