Not good for meeting people, but a nice stay in a great location about 5mins from buckingham palace.

To start, we were in the basement and the shared bathroom was 3 flights up. Although the weather was brisk outside, our room was steamy and hot. The beds were terrible and the outlet short circuited. The staff was okay, but the atmosphere was less than welcoming and the luggage storage was out in the open on shelves with no locks. If you find yourself forced to stay here just make sure you don't get stuck in the basement.

After complaining received another room at 3rd floor: room clean but very old and poor furnishment, didn\'t look at all as pictures, window not closing well, cold air+noise from street, double bed in poor shape and I got back pain, no hot water in shower for 2 days, mouse traps in corners bad impression, will not come again. Good location.

I suppose the hostel was in a decent area, however. THe bathroom, however, while providing hot water and good pressure, was like a catacomb. THe ceiling was too low for comfort and the lack of a shower curtain made showering somewhat of a chore.

Also, it has lots of steps and was really tiring to get to my room. The TV didn't work. The rest perfect. The fact that they give you coffee and tea bags is just excellent. The private suite meant we had our own room with beds and our own lock, but the private bath apparently meant that there was a box shower in the corner of the room. Underneath the shower were linoleum tiles on which there was a surge protector with a television and tea kettle plugged in... safe, right? Also, the shower was confusing to operate and only worked for about 3 minutes. There was a public bathroom downstairs with a shower.

The shower and loo in our room were too close together and it was difficult to move around in it!. We would have been happy to pay more for a bigger "space"! Also there did not seem to be any hot water in the shower. Only suggestions - not a criticism as we were well impressed with cleanliness and organisation.

The ensuite downstairs was also really ridiculous (the toilet was not inside the room and the humidity from the shower went straight to the room). Sheets and towels were changed daily.
