| Comments: Staff are multilingual and helpful. Well positioned hotel close to museums and galleries and concert hall. A little further from entertainment centres but connected by tram easily enough. (What seemed like a plumbing noise irritated me at times). Excellent choices for breakfast. Recommended for a pleasant stay. |

| Comments: polite enough staff...
rooms seemed clean at first...bed bugs though.
and worst of all, a terrible sound in the room all through the day and night...low noise like a pump coming on and off...made for very difficult sleeping...used ear plugs finally and that helped... |

| Comments: Excellent 2*-hotel, 3 min. away from the Van Gogh Museum and 10-15 min. from all the international restaurants around Leidseplein. Easy to reach from the station by trams 2 or 5 (stop Van Baerlestraat) or 16 (stop Museumplein). Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, superb breakfast. Would come here any time again! |

| Comments: Excellent place for the price, in a charming neighborhood (lots of those in Amsterdam). Yeah yeah, the stairs are a pain - let's make it easier by calling them ladders. So be it. Very nice owners/staff. I had the top floor single room, loved it. |

| Comments: Pretty good price/quality ratio for a hotel in Amsterdam. We stayed in a two bed room with shower and toilet on the same floor. This worked. Good connections with trams. |

| Comments: The hotel is very basic but I liked the security key pass to get in after hours. The neighborhood seemed safe and is very close to all the great museums. Friendly staff! My only recommendation is that they have the carpets in the rooms cleaned as mine had many stains. Also, the stairs are quite steep and narrow, but that is common in most homes there...otherwise a pleasant place to stay. |

| Comments: Very cosy little hotel, in good walking distance to the Van Gogh museum and Vondelpark, and to trams to Amsterdam center. Clean, not the best decor (a bit old), but would recommend for the price. |

| Comments: Nicer location... not for those who want the weed smell, but if you're uninterested in that, then nice location to museums and pretty areas. Nice, but small rooms. Steep staircase was pretty funny. Good overall. |

| Comments: No elevator, so you might want to be careful about bringing elderly to this place. Climbing is a big problem because the stairs are steep and very small. Easy to slip and fall if you are not careful, and if there is heavy baggage it is very inconvenient and stressful. |

| Comments: Hotel Verdi is probably the nicest hostel/hotel I have ever stayed in.
The price is affordable. The breakfast is killer (huge selection and a beautiful garden room in which to stuff yourself). The room accommodates two travellers (with twin beds) very comfortably with plenty of room to spare.
The skeleton key for your room is hilarious and the front door opens with an electronic "key" - very secure system. The location is one block from a major tram stop - and it's in a quaint neighborhood, so you are away from any street noise or bother.
The couple (and their daughter) who runs the hostel/hotel are WONDERFUL. So sweet and helpful. I had a problem with the FREE Wi-Fi they offer, so they offered to let me use their personal computer free of charge while they waited for their daughter (the tech-savvy one) to come in to fix it (which she did within a few minutes).
Wonderful and I will stay there the next time I go. MOST DEFINITELY. |

| Comments: This is a great little budget hotel!!! Excellent central location one block from Van Gogh and Concert Gebouw and close to lots of trams and Albert Heijn grocery store. Very friendly, clean, secure and the room is quite large and nice for the money. An excellent value. |

| Comments: If looking for a no-frills, but clean, well priced place to stay this is it. Beware the stairs are a pain and the room is small (like all I know in Amsterdam) but the staff is friendly (although some patience is required with their slow detailed explanations of obvious stuff) and its located in a nice quiet residential neighbourhood but 3 minutes from a tram stop that will take you to the centre, and walking 10 minutes from Rijks and Van Gogh museums, 15 from Leidseplein and the city centre. |

| Comments: The hotel is situated in a quiet but central area. Breakfast is sufficient. The stairs are steep but it is a 100-year building so one should expect those kind of stairs. The staff was really helpful in every kind of issue. Considering the room prices, it is an optimal alternative for Amsterdam. |
