VERY DISAPPOINTING AS I HAD TO THEN FIND SOMEWHERE TO STAY AT 11pm AT NIGHT. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND STAYING THERE WHEN COMING VIA TRAIN OR PLANE.

HE uses my friend's clothes for pillow and He got wrong key and how he gets in our room. We have to leave Edinburgh for appointment in Gladsmuir 8:30am. The Staff said we must return the key 8am but we waiting outside for 10 minutes early and they not in until 20 minutes late! It no good for us, we arrive late in Gladsmuir.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Scotland 5th October 2008 - - 2/5 Comments: I emailed the Hostel more than 24 hours before my booking to cancel the booking however not only was the deposit debited from my account (as expected) but also the full cost of 1 night x 4 people. Seems like the staff are quick to deal with pre-booking enquiries but cancellations are a different story. Not that I was notified of the full debit, rather I had to discover it on a bank statement. I will be contacting the hostel direct for a refund

The room as very basic but clean. There was no jug in the kitchen for a cup of tea. I feel it was a bit expensive for a double room. Other than that it is fine if you are out for a good time in Edinburgh. Good location.

A french girl had her camera stolen and a guy had his backpack stolen from his room. Very cheap but be careful.

Next time we´ll stay in a hotel if there isn´t some other hostel free. Sorry for that bad comments but that´s just the truth. Well and the staff on the day we checked in wasn´t too friendly either- the staff on the next day was brilliant!!!

Bad things: 1) Please change your matresses! They are very old and horribly uncomfortable. 2) Poor ventilation of the rooms, especially the ones on the ground floor. If you open the window, it gets to noisy because of the street traffic. If you do not open it, the smell of humidity is really strong :( 3)I think you should have lockers in the rooms!!!
