The room that we had, a double bed room, was spacious, clean and very nice. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the rest of the facilities, like the kitchen and 3 bathrooms, were very clean and nice. Just like what was advertised, the interior design is modern. And the location is great. Couldn't have asked for more and highly recommended. Would definitely go back when I visit Barcelona again.

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating Ireland 14th September 2007 Couple 18-24 2/5 Comments: Arrived at reception and lady said she had no record of our online booking and the place was fully booked. It was hard to communicate due to the language barrier, we spoke to the manager on the phone who told us that he had an apartment nearby (10 mins walking) and to meet his friend there who would let us in and sort out keys. The receptionist had no map to show us where the new place was but we managed to get there (took longer than 10mins) after drawing a map on a piece of paper! We were tired from hauling our luggage around and there was building work in the apartment complex and therefore the front door was left open from morning to evening. There was no window just a small room with a bed, tv, fridge, microwave and bathroom. The AC wasn't good. The manager's friend did not know anything about the rates so it was confusing, we did not have to pay the deposit which is usually asked for as we stayed just 2 nights. Towels were not changed as it was our own apartment and we did not see any staff again. There was no interaction with anyone, it was not hostel-style. I would reccommend finding a better place and also more organised, which isn't hard to find in Barcelona.

The Staff was nice and everything almost great, when I was there the Air Conditioner wasn't funktion at all... and it was really hot :( and they just rebuild the building so... it was really loud, they have supposed to tell us about that, but they didn't do that, so when we were coming of coz we were sad. The Shower and toilette also not really funktion... well that was a really pity.

A staff member is around all day (just knock on the staff door by reception or ring the door bell) to give advice about stuff to do and see. It's not a hostel it's appartments, so meeting people here. The kitchen is really well equipped and breakfast is great. The only bad thing is the metro runs directly under the building and there is building works on the facade so it can be a bit noisy. Definitely recommend.

The staff are REALLY friendly and the place is very clean and well kept with ample room in the bedrooms and in a great location. There was even a/c in our room which we couldn't believe (and were very happy about!). We happened to be in a room away from the road so it wasn't too noisy, though I think some of the rooms would be as the place is right on a main road. There were plenty of bathrooms which were nice and clean, though the showers were fairly small. The only downfall I would say is the late fee they charge you if you arrive after midnight. We had a plane delay and didn't get in until 00:45 so were charged 27Euros for our trouble. However, we did know about this before hand and took the chance. But apart from that I would very highly recommend this place.

However, when we arrived they'd overbooked and given away our room!! Luckily we were upgraded to a different building closer to the port, but the staff didn't even know what was going on or hardly speak english, and the upgrade rooms weren't even made up. So our 5pm checkin actually stretched til 10pm at night! And then they weren't even going to give us a key to the building so we'd have to stay in on our first nite! Ridiculous!

The young lady in charge of checking everyone in was very helpful and spoke enough english for us to understand for the little bit of spanish we spoke. The place was secure, and we had our own key to the gate, front door, and room which we could keep with us at all times (very desirable). Location was great (next to gaudi's cathedral), located 20-30 minute walk to beach and about same to sagrada familia and casa mila. Only downside was the sheets smelled like sweat, but because everything else was so nice this didnt really matter to us. Kitchen with refrigerator and stovetop, and 4 bathrooms all with showers. It was the best stop of our trip. We will make sure to reserve for the next time we travel to Barcelona. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!

Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating - 17th July 2007 Female 25-30 4/5 Comments: I spent a week in the hostel with my friend and we liked the place because it was really great located, very near to everything in the centre, the kitchen was well equipped, and the hostel looked quite nice too. The girl was very kind and helpful at the reception / in charge of the hostel. The only thing we were sorry about, that the renovation is still going on at the front of the house and so we were not allowed to open the windows to outside. We had air-condition, so the room temperature was OK, only we could not get fresh air and the room was quite dark because of the building site just in front of the window. But once it will be done (I would be happy to know when) it will surely be very nice! :-) The other thing we would recommend to the hostel that they change the floor of the rooms, because the tiles do not look nice, they look like dirty also when they are clean. But it was only in the rooms because in the lobby/corridor the parquet was nice and I really liked the beautiful posters of Barcelona there too! So, I would go to the hostel with pleasure again, but I think rather after the renovation is finished.

Zwar war das Haus wegen Renovierungsarbeiten mit einem Gerüst umzäunt,sodass wir unser Fenster nicht öffnen konnten, aber das stört nicht wenn man nur zum Schlafen da ist. Sehr schönes großes Zimmer. Es wird alles täglich sauber gemacht und die Leiterin ist sehr nett. Außerdem liegt das Hostel genau im Zentrum, nur 500m von der Rambla entfernt, an einer großen Hauptstraße. Aber es ist zum Schlafen nicht zu laut. Das Hostel liegt direkt über einer kleinen mexikanischen Bar "Rosso Negro", mit super leckeren Mojitos und Happy Hour. Das Frühstück ist völlig ausreichend. ( 2 Arten Nutella, 2 Marmeladen, Honig, Milch, Kaffee, Tee, Toastbrot, Magarine) Auch Fernseher mit deutschem Fernsehen und DVD Player ist vorhanden. Wir würden immer wieder in diesem Hostel übernachten, alles ist völlig in Ordnung und BARCELONA IS A WONDERFUL CITY!!!

La Rambla is so close, and as we planned to also do the Fat Tire Bike Tour, the meeting point was so close by. Great places to eat nearby, close to the beach, and lots of shopping. As it is directly on Via Laetana, it can be a little noisy. There was also construction being done outside our window, making it a little noisy in the mornings. Staff speaks very little English, so our Spanish was really handy! Overall, a recommended stay in Barcelona.

Although if you can handle that the room was massive and had probably the most comfortable lounge I've ever sat on in the room aswell!! We got used to not being able to look outside after 3 days anyway. Good for the price.

If you are used to sleep with Oropax - no problem. Otherwise ask for a room which goes to the inner side of the house. Everything was very clean, our room was much bigger than a normal sized hotel room.

Highly recomended, perhaps you doesn`t meet that much people in there but everything`s around!! An as a plus you get the key so there`s no curfew!!! I`d Definetly stay there again!.

She is at the hostal all the time. About 5 minutes to the Ramblas and other nice sites (picasso museum, port, city centre...). Everything was clean. The showers are a bit small but OK. Breakfast is allright and between 7.00 and 11.00 o'clock. Good for pairs, too expensive for groups!

Endroit très propre, joli et près de tout. Les photos sont fidèles à l'endroit. Attention, c'est situé sur une rue très bruyante et le personnel est difficile à rejoindre.
