Comments: There are so many rules at the hostel it is a little off putting. YOu can't drink alcohol in the hostel, except the staff were quite happy to have a bottle of wine. Also no butter or margarine at breakfast and if the toast ran out, there were no staff around to get some more. Also so of the directions on how to get to places such as Toledo were out dated and so we had to find our own way.

Comments: There's no common room, and you have no access to the hostel between 11am and 2pm. This is an issue when leaving one hostel at their check out time, only to arrive at a locked door. The breakfast was disappointing. And they could use more bathrooms. But that is probably out of their control. (There's a line up every morning, though.)

Comments: horrible horrible place .. the first notice u see in the kitchen is "dont steal" breakfast is bread ... no butter ... milk .. no cornflakes .. no keys for rooms ... receptionist is forever pissed with something ... throw you out of the hostel from 11 to 2 everday ... no lobby .. i mean i dont know why they have opened a hostel in the first place .. all they have are bunk beds ... (which shake so much everytime the other person even moves that you cannot sleep half the time )

Comments: Fantastic location close to great night life & metro stations but small hostel space with only 2 bathrooms servicing over 25 people which meant long cues all the time. Hidden costs added up. Also the staff kick you out from 11am - 2pm everyday. There was also an alcohol ban which wasn't mentioned anywhere before arrival and the breakfast provided was poor with food running out early. Overall the hostel only had location going for it, everything else was mediocre.

Comments: While the hostel was small it served its purspose being close to everything with friendly helpful staff. No common room and noise from the main road would be the only downside.

Comments: I would NEVER recommend this hostel. Besides for the obligatory break during the day, the lack of necessary bathrooms, pitiful breakfast, no common room, and no internet, the staff was EXTREMLEY rude and blunt. I left a day early w/o a refund because I was so disappointed. Rated best hostel? Really? It must be a lie.

Comments: When they say that there´s a lockout, it means that absolutely nobody is there, so be wary of arriving in the city in the middle of the day. There´s also only two bathrooms for about 40-50 people, but the location is great.

Comments: The fact that the hostel closes down for cleaning from 11am till 2pm bothered us a lot. We came to spend a party weekend in the capital and would really appreciate if we could sleep a bit more than 2 or 3 hours in the morning. Apart from that evertything was ok, the staff very friendly, we just missed a bigger kitchen or room where it would be possible to sit and talk in the afternoon or in the evenings.

Comments: The location of this hostel is excellent and it is situated in a beautiful old building right at Plaza Espana above a Starbucks. Staff was nice and helpful and its a very clean place too. Fun depends on the people that are there, so nothing to say about that. I think its a great deal for the price!

Comments: perfect location (metro and city 2 steps away), really basic breakfast (I don´t eat jam, no butter), unluckily just two bathrooms for the whole hostel, so on the weekend you need to calculate waiting time

Comments: This is like the backpackers I knew 10 years ago, no frills. Small, clean, friendly staff and great location. There are only small lockers in the rooms that you have to put in 1 Euro EVERY TIME you want to close the locker. The rooms aren't locked. Only 2 bathrooms for the whole hostel with no seprate toilet. No common room or computers for internet access. Lock out after 10am for cleaning.

Comments: This hostel was quite clean and the staff helpful, the location was good but....The rooms were very squashed and the beds very squeaky. The breakfast meant toast with Jam, not even any butter. The most annoying thing was that there were only two bathrooms, so you have to wait always. But overall, not bad.

Cons: few bathrooms, very small kitchen, poor breakfast, noisy at night because of the busy street, no PCs (but wifi), no places where sit and relax. |
