'great location, read rules before booking'

SHELTER CITY CHRISTIAN HOSTEL - Great value for money.
The hostel offers you a bed, breakfast, hot showers and a locker for the best prices in Amsterdam. Enjoy the clean and comfortable accommodation and the friendly international atmosphere. Providing so much for so little, the Shelter City is definitely the best deal you can get in Amsterdam.

The hostel is located in the CITY CENTRE, a short walk from Central Station. Most of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance.

The Shelter City has single-sex ROOMS with 4 to 8 beds and single-sex dorms with 12 to 20 beds. The larger dorms are divided into smaller sections to provide the privacy you'd like. Our budget price includes breakfast, hot showers, and locker. Starting at 16.50 euros, these are the best-value beds in town.

You will get so much MORE than just a good night's sleep at an affordable price. The hostel not only provides excellent facilities, but also has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All of our international staff speak English and will be pleased to help you. The hostel has a courtyard and a great cafe where you can get something to eat or drink, relax and meet people from all over the world, or use the Internet.

The LOCATION in the historical Nieuwmarkt area makes it easy to explore Amsterdam. The hostel is close to Central Station, Dam square, small China Town and the Red Light district.

Experience real Christian hospitality!

Important info:
• The hostel is smoke-free, drug-free, alcohol-free (smoking cigarettes is allowed in the courtyard).
• There are separate dorms for men and women.
• Curfew is 2:00 am (no entry after this time, open again at 7:00 am)
• We recommend our accommodation to persons between 15 and 40 years of age.
• The use of a locker is free, but you'll have to pay a fully refundable key deposit of 5 or 10 euros.
• If you want to cancel your reservation: E-mail or phone us before 12:00 noon on the day before you were due to arrive, otherwise we will have to charge your credit card for one night's accommodation.
• Comparison with our sister hostel in Amsterdam, Shelter Jordan: Shelter City is bigger (178 beds), has a lot of character, and is located in a very lively part of the city centre.
• Multiple booking policy:
If the same name or credit card is used in multiple bookings for a total of more than 8 people on the same day then we will apply our group payment and cancellation conditions to be found on www.shelter.nl
If the group booking is just for one night and is on a Friday, Saturday or one of the following dates around public holidays, then an extra charge of 5 euros will be made per bed booked: 28/29/30/31 December 2008, 1 January, 9/12/29/30 April, 21/31 May, 1 June, 27/28/29/30/31 December 2009.
