Shared bathrooms/showers..Extremely steep set of stairways up to the rooms with no lift.Cleanliness of bathrooms left ALOT to be desired. Best part of our stay at Kooyk was the buffet in the mornings..Quite tasty!

Nice glass doors opening on to the patio or balcony. Clean large rooms, generally impressed just a little disappointed with our welcome from the staff. Great value for money!

Room was decent, very comfy bed! Shared showers are clean and never seemed busy. Good breakfast and owners very friendly, especially resident spaniel Ollie! Good value for money, really liked and would stay again.

When we arrived, the lady at the front desk was expecting us and already had our key set aside. The location is very good, as it is only a 5 min walk from Leidsplein (bar district in Amsterdam). It has a great view of the canal, close to a great night life and yet it is still located in a quiet area so that you can get your sleep. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I definitely recommend this place. Thanks staff of Kooyk hotel!

However, our room and the hallways smelled strongly of damp and stale smoke. This is bargain basement accommodation and if you're in Amsterdam for friendly instead of flash then Kooyk is fine. The breakfast was very good also.
