| Comments: This is a simple, quiet hostel where I had a private room. The room was nice, everything was very clean, and the staff friendly, but limited in speaking english. The hostel was slightly difficult to find since the sign is actually very small, and mounted high up on the non-descript building. Trust the street address and look for the door bell button marked Hostal Numancia. Overall a great place to stay if you are just looking for a quiet cozy place that is inexpensive and clean. |

| Comments: This hostel is not accurately described on the website. Its location is close to the main part of town, which is great; but it is down a sort of shady street that freaked us out a bit. (To be fair, it was our first time abroad, and we were already kind of anxious.) We arrived when we said we would, but our room was not ready for two more hours. We had to leave our stuf in the manager's office and wander around Madrid without our belongings. Towels were not included, and the bathroom needed cleaning very badly. The staff was fine - neither great or unfriendly. My belongings were safe in the room, but overall, I would not recommend this hostel.
As a side note, the managers and staff do not speak any English. (I don't expect that they do, mind you, but if you are a traveler that does not speak Spanish, I especially warn you against this hostel.) |

| Comments: This hostel is really not worth the money.
It's not bad or anything-but there's a lot of cheaper hostels that are better. Staff doesn't speak english. And the sound bounce between the korridor so it sounds like all the discussions are held in your room (very thin walls)and really cold at night. |

| Comments: This is a good hostal to stay when you are on your way to the airport! Very friendly staff. Only too bad that the traffic noises are quite loud, but if you are really exhausted you wont even notice it ^_^!! |

| Comments: Nice quiet hostel run by very good hardworking people. Within walking distance of pretty much anywhere you would want to see, and safe at night. There is a nice asian market across the street run by very helpful people where you can get all the basics, or down the street in either direction are grocery stores, but they are not open as long.
I would stay here again! |

| Comments: We had never stayed at a Hostal and at first were a little reluctant. It is is a very central location and within walking to many things. VERY CLEAN! First impression is not a great neighborhood. A little scary! |

| Comments: The bathrooms on the main side have larger, cleaner showers than the ones on the accessory side.
Sometimes people are loud in the early morning or at siesta. Also, the walls are thin.
The people only spoke to me in spanish but maybe someone there speaks some english.
Pretty clean overall though. The place looks sketchy in the day but there are a lot of people out at night, and it's pretty near the center of Madrid. |
