Comments: The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and warm. The bathroom was really clean and serviceable, although a bit of a walk from some of the rooms. It's quite close to the train station and walking distance to everything in the best touristy part of Newcastle. Quite a few easy places to eat nearby.

Comments: Great place to stay. The room was small, but it was comfortable. The window lets out a lot of heat and lets in a lot of noise, but we slept fine. The extra charge for the hot breakfast is well worth it.

Comments: The location and information on how to find the place was excellent. The staff were particularly good, friendly, and did all our washing for only 6 pounds. I would really recommend it.

Comments: Hostel was very clean and staff very friendly! Only minus is that the hostel was near the main road so it was very noisy. But it was easy and fast to get to the town centre.

Comments: The facilities were quite nice, with bathrooms ensuite, but the atmosphere and the number of stairs were much more like a hotel. And, in fact, it is called a hotel. It was still decently priced and a nice place to stay. If you're looking for a hostel environment, though, or if you want to be right in the city centre, then it's not the place for you.

Comments: Overall OK, but location is quite far from train station, and breakfast is not included, I think they are overpriced, we paid 55 pounds for a room, I am sure for that amout, you could easily find a bed and breakfast in that area, not a good value for money.

Comments: the guest-house is 20 minutes walk from the city centre, that makes it quite far in a small town like york. also there were no buses going to and from the city centre to the hostel, neither from the station! the room was quite small but comfortable. unfortunately when we arrived our room was not cleaned yet and they didn't finish! however nice place where to stay (expecially if you like walking!), breakfast real english!

Comments: This is a great place to come with a family or as a couple rather than as a bunch of friends. My family came to visit me from Canada and of all the places we stayed they all thought it had the most charm. The staff are great and helpful, you are no more than a ten minute walk from York minster and the shops and the breakfast is a good start to your day. However, skip on the 7.50pound and go with the 4.50pound breakfast.

Comments: A generally excellent experience! The location was very good - only 5 to 10 mins' walk from York Minister, i.e. the city centre. 2 supermarkets, Londis and Sainsbury's nearby. It also costs only 4.50 pounds from the train station. The room was huge and clean. There was even a TV there. Hostel price, hotel experience.
